I've only played the "Classic" version for a couple days now, mostly just creating 8-bit characters lol
It's definitely a good way to kill time seeing as some people spend hours making "3D" renditions of characters.
I've only done "2D" renditions just to get a feel for the game...

I've messed around here and there with this game as well for a while now. 2D sprites are nice and all, but just doing that can get old. Nothing against sprites, but I got enough recreation with pearler beads back in middle school. ... Ok, maybe I haven't had enough of that yet, but still. My base map that I've built so far has a spiral staircase from heaven to hell, an outcast cottage with a small pier and mine, and the beginnings of a stereotypical Dragon Quest village (General Store, Blacksmith, Library, Church, Fortune Teller, Tavern, Town Hall, Graveyard, Park). I've considered off and on whether to try and recreate the castle of Suikoden 1 since it was interesting in being carved of natural stone, but I have no sense of scale so I'd be hard pressed to start it.
Still, from what I've seen of the multiplayer worlds, people have thrown a large amount of time into this game.
