I have my reasons. These reasons shall not be made public unless I feel the need to do so. You may also reference my first post in the last mafia thread, if you'd like.

I wouldn't actually hold clues toward anyone's avatar, as avatars may be changed at any given moment. My own avatar was a Beedrill not 1 week ago, which, in itself, could refer to a monster with claws.

They want to eliminate the other mafia as well, it would actually be a VERY good idea for a mafia faction to attempt to eliminate the other mafia faction, so they can pick off the village without interference.
