These mobs drop tons of [equip]!

Note: At some point soon, this list will be done. This thread wont get many posts afterwards, but it still will contain data useful to many people. If this gets going, could this get stickied?


Okay okay, so we say we need something like this but no one actually does it. So here we go. This thread is to detail mobs which drop an unusually high number of a specific type of equip.

We can all use hidden street to find monsters that drop equips, but what if we're looking for any earrings. Thus, we use the following list. Feel free to contribute in the fashion show below:

I haven't checked this one since the patch, but they used to drop a lot of capes.


The Kru in Mu Lung drop a lot of Scarabs, again not sure how above average it is though.

I know they drop friggin tons after Big Bang.

Horny Mushrooms seem to drop nothing but Guardian Kataras now and at the current drop rate its like every 10 kills too.

i SOO BACK THAT. Ive been hunting for a giles cape ive gotten like 30.

their ratio was around 3-5 kataras / 1 other equip for me.

Haven't trained there since the patch, but

I got sooo many of those while farming PoT on my F/P. s: Can't imagine 10x drop. x_x

I'm not even kidding. The most though has to be the archer equips and pirate boots

Bains~Showa~Rose Earrings (Level 90)
Got like 4 rose earrings in less than an hour at Showa bains, they drop other things fairly frequently too, but I got earrings most.

Birks~Leafre~[Dragon?] Katara
Also Birks dropped that Katara a LOT, that level 70 one or whatever, I got 5 of those in a row there.

In my experience from Bone Fish.

Their most common drop by far is the Red Pirate Top, level 80.
Close second is Green Commodore, level 90.
Very far third would be the Fire Arund.

And Gobies... They drop a lot of different crap...
From what I got, Purple Giles capes are their most common drop (take with a grain of salt)
Second goes to Blue mystique pants, level 70.
And third for pretty much every equip they drop. Specially shoes. -_-

What? I've gotten more capes than other equipment, but they're mostly the Purple Capes... I don't like those.

You can get one at least every minute, I'm completely serious!

Added most of 'em through this point.

As I'm seeing, all mobs that drop kataras drop them like crazy.

Anyway:

Heavenly Katara (lvl 70)
Green Hobi - Map: Steep Hill

I've been at Bains for a week, and I found 5 pairs of Rose Earrings, none of which were potentialed. They seem to drop everything at a fairly equal rate, excrpt Rose Earrings.

Well ill put it this way, I came back to the game with no equips really, went to bains because they dropped Osfa tops and pants, I got 4 pairs of Rose earrings before I found both of the equips.

And Gobies... They drop a lot of different crap...

For me it was the shoes... always the shoes.

~8 Lapiz Sandals
~12 of that lv.80 Pirate boot, I think
~10 Gold Moss Boots
I did get lots of Blue Mystiques but shoes were the big one for me. Luckily the 1 Giles Cape I did find had potential on it.

I hear they drop the level 75? Half Earrings too but I never found any....

And I've been keeping track of Bain drops in my sig, looks like gloves (magician/thief/bowman) and overalls (bowman/pirate/mage) are winning, mostly due to the fact that Bains drop so many different ones. I did find about a dozen Rose Earrings but none had potential. Shrug.

The big thing for Bains is that I can kill lots of them quickly and they drop tons of stuff - I was getting 3-4 hidden potential equips per hour easily.

I don't understand why they decided to make kataras the common drop of every monster they actually drop from...this screws up hunting items a lot.

At Harps I found about 3 Level 85 Capes there(and only 1 of other items).
On the other hand I've been at bains for a while now and have only found 1 rose earrings while I've found at least 10 of each drop . I do agree that they commonly drop all kinds of gloves and overalls though.
