Scheduled Server Maintenance - 08.03.10

Contradiction much? The quote says that blank 40% scrolls will stop being handed out but that was for the last server maintenance. Yet they are still being handed out. While this is being abused and it may not be fair, this is Nexon's fault to let the scrolls continue to resurface. So yes, I could see them calling out for exploit. I could also see a lot of legitimate players getting falsely accused too...

Wrong, it says Cassandra will stop giving them out. People aren't getting them from Cassandra they re getting it for making a Aran which they said nothing about I'm sure they know and it seems they really don't care.

My advice to everyone is if you want to farm them, go ahead; but keep them on that one account. Don't sell them, don't use them, don't trade them until NEXON explicitly states what their opinion on the matter is. I personally have made an account and got 9 of them for my soon to be created reverse weapon, but I won't touch them until I know whether it is a bannable offense or just a slightly screwed up rate of acquisition (think maple weapon drop rates right after the patch one anniversary) [which I missed out on because I was busy killing the town boss that was "supposed" to drop them during the event and didn't get anything while people in HHG1 were farming right next to me unknowingly].

But I digress, regardless of your stance nothing is absolute until those in power say so.

Good idea. I know this -is- an exploit, but I sort of doubt it would be something to ban over since it can be done by unknowing -legitimately- new players, thus if they were to issue out bans wouldn't they risk banning many innocent new players to the game?

1. make a NEW account( new email/new id/new pass/etc)
2. make a ******/****/**** char
3. lvl the char to lvl 10
4. get quest from maple admin, receive 40% blank scroll
5. talk to gaga
6. ???
7. profit.

damage reduction without prior warning?

This event is an exploit.

The witch belt event is the same thing as this situation:
Players found out about newties dropping tokens, players farm said tokens
and profited from the belt/scrolling transactions, nexon realizes their mistake,
nexon fixes it so that newties no longer drop the tokens, and players who exploited
the event kept their profits/scrolled items.

Just because its an exploit though doesn't mean that players will be punished for
their activities.

If it was so mucha problem it would have been fixed by now. In my humble opinion i think this is NEXON'S way of fixing the damage done by the meso exploits.

This thread and every other thread on every other forum will die once the SC is over and the quest is fixed and nothing was done to the people. It's so obvious nothing is gonna happen to the that have these scrolls it's like asking "is the shy blue'? "Is the grass green"?

Whats there to be fixed about it exactly? It doesn't seem buggy or even a glitch for that matter. Its just like the invite your friends get free nx event.

Just got a 5th 50% scrolls for the hell of it on a dump mule account. The SC sure is being late. If I lose the scrolls no biggie since I tried to make a last minute profit. If it stays, yay me. Either way I won't be mad whether they wipe them or disable the event.

*lol nvm SC just hit, but ~5 minutes after I got a 5th scroll too. I totally gambled on those last 10 minutes before it hit SC time. xD

They can change NPC functions, I think. They changed Gaga to give out the 50% scrolls in the last SC.

They should just have the blank 40%s exchange for 2 30%s. At least they dont cost what 50%s do, and you only lose 10% working chance.

Lol, take the NPC out of the game? Nah I don't see that happening. Yeah now that I think aout it they would need a patch to actually FIX the scroll it looks like they might not even care and just keep it in there till the next patch.
