So I'm going to see Inception
#1
My friends have always bugged me about being obsessed with dreams and stuff, so I was immediately notified when my friend went to see Inception. He told me he was never one to really be interested in his dreams, but he found this movie amazing. He told me it was one of the best movies he's ever seen-- if not the best. I've seen threads about here, and people have been talking about it all the time. The only thing I think about though, with this movie getting raved about, is another movie. Inception has also over-shadowed my favourite movie: Waking Life. Although I'm not sure if anyone's heard of it, because I've only known one other person who's seen it. Waking Life is movie that talks about things. When I saw this movie my whole view on life pretty much changed, but if my friend can say the same about Inception, I'm really curious to how this movie will have an effect on me, and I'd like to hear Southperry's opinion on Inception, without the spoilers, 'cause I see that other thread in Rubik's Cube.

tl;dr What's so great about Inception?

Also, if you've never seen or heard of Waking Life, I suggest you look into it.

Why is this in the funhaus?

I was considering putting it in Rubik's Cube, but wasn't sure if it was the right place. It also just doesn't really seem related to anything.

Should be in the speakeasy if I'm not mistaken.

My bad. If it is in the wrong section, someone can feel free to move it.

I'ma just post the first paragraph of something MasPan shared over at the Rubik's Cube. No spoilers:

"If a film's quality is measured solely by its ability to generate audience member discussions about it after the credits roll, then Inception is without a doubt the most successful film of not only the summer but the entire year thus far. Regardless if you think Christopher Nolan's high-concept heist film is a masterpiece, a complete clustercuss or some shade of grey between the two, there's just no walking out of the theater without a desire to discuss it further. A host of adjectives have been thrown Inception's way recently, but forgettable just is not one of them."

It's a good movie to talk about with people that have seen it.

MasPan seems to be pretty collected with his words. Well, I read a couple of reviews and watched some trailers and still don't really know what to think of it. I realize it is a completely different movie than Waking Life, and their only similarity is dreams, but I guess I'll have to wait until tomorrow until I can really say anything about Inception.
