[News] Tespia is coming!

Min Kim: This last patch didn't go so well.
Grunt #1: Yeah, lots of rollbacks that we had to do.
Grunt #2: If hackers weren't so prevalent, hopefully we wouldn't have this problem.
Kim: Well, it's a free game. The consequence of a free game and players with a lot of free time is hackers. That's inevitable.
Grunt #1: So, how can we prevent this from happening again?
Kim: Didn't we promise last year to release Tespia? How's that going?
Grunt #2: Still in the pipeworks. We've been too busy handling all of the errors after patches and taking care of new content. Not a whole lot of time for managing yet another server, bugs, and playerbase.
Kim: Well, we can't have constant rollbacks happening to real characters - that's how we lose money and players. Chances are we can save money by using Tespia. Plus, then we'll be fulfilling our promise that we made over fifteen months ago.
Grunt #1: But what about this Big Bang thing happening? We'll have to keep two separate codebases, and then we'll be revealing our quests and events. Things won't be a surprise anymore on patch night.
Kim: It's better that things not be a surprise than have any more rollbacks. Right now our playerbase believes that they shouldn't even play the game within 48 hours of a patch. Why, when they'll just get rollbacked and lose any progress?
Grunt #2: True.
Grunt #1: Yeah, yeah.
Kim: So, get Tespia going. End of meeting.

This makes me think they'll use Tespia for Big Bang pre-launch testing. Maybe not within the next 3-4 weeks, but definitely somewhere down the road.

Since they're porting existing characters to Tespia, it's highly likely it has to do with Big Bang.

Or it can be because when people get to pick every dam class and lvl it by clicking an npc, they goof around instead of going bug hunting.

Well no. Another supporting argument for why they're porting characters is to test changes to existing characters in the database. The only reason they would want to test that, is if BB was being tested as well since that is the only content that messes with existing data.

All content messes with existing data in some way. That's why the content is new. Rolleyes

That's not really what i meant but yeah. I meant data in the sense of SP levels and other things aware to users, not nexon's if riddled code. o.o

Any guess is as good as the other though. Making brand new characters interacts just as much with new content as a transfered old character. Transfering saves time in getting equips, the player knows what he/she is doing on the character and how it should respond to different things and again, there will be no "hurr durr look at me I have every class at lvl 162 and my Night lord got HB and SE hurr durr."

You people are really over-hyping the Big Bang. Though I can agree that it's possible they might be using Tespia to alter version-specific areas to prepare for Big Bang, the actual Big Bang will not arrive for quite a bit of time. Nexon Korea isn't even finished with the data yet in their own version.

Probably. Can't really complain about being buffed in every way to probably 5x the DPS i can do now, as well as 1.2x HP. Glitter

We'll see.

Even if they're not we can get those updates later on.

I don't think he's able to do it, unless he wants Nexon all over him again.

In the case there was a new masterian place, he wouldn't be able to post images, but that's about it.
If the update was BB, then he could take the KMS images.

Even if he can't post pictures, he can still get the data, mob info, etc. You can post the pictures on SW or basil.

Basically its to see how a lvl 200 will work in big bang once nexon gets the kinks out.
\
Because knowing nexon the big bang sp reset thing would permanently destroy gms because it would fail on such a magnitude and do things
it was never meant to do.

So test server to test it out there. It all makes sense.

I bet Big Bang comes out before the 3DS.

Like for once nexons rush to do things might pay off.
