OMG Starcraft 2

I played through the game on casual mode just so I could see the story. I'll replay it on hard/brutal for the achievements later.

But Hard/Brutal mode also makes you think/play smarter. Rolleyes

Before Starcraft 2 I never did waypoints nor did I hot keyed and set rally points at my buildings so I'd produce units more efficiently and send them to other places. Setting rally points from the Command Center to mineral fields is incredibly helpful, for example. So is setting waypoints to have the unit construct a building and then go back to mining. I never did any of these in the Stacraft, in which I obviously go slaughtered badly by anyone who's an expert at the game.

Yaaaaaaay I'm leeeeeearning.

Yep the one where you have to survive multiple wave of zergy and stuff.
Anyways got it on my 2nd, its gonna be painfull to do this mission at brutal, because i plan on doing every mission at brutal some days. I just finished the specter mission...

Lost Viking is fun. Took me ~20 minutes to get to Terra-tron.

Plasma Missiles + Drones = ultimate offense in this game.

Gonna take a small break from SCII today. I'm miffed that I couldn't upgrade my video card that I bought from Best Buy because the GeForce 9800 that I bought on a clearance sale IS TOO ZETTA BIG. It's like the size of a TI-83 calculator and the stores just closed!

I liked the "Leviathan" boss (Devourer with tentacle spikes)

If you beat the computer bad enough (but still let their command center + SCVs + structures stay) you'll get a pop-up saying Computer wants to surrender with a Yes or No. I thought that was pretty funny considering I definitely hit NO. haha

anyone tried the trade resources thing? I sometimes build way too many probes and end up with a ton more resources than I need. I've never done a resource trade though

You mean share resources to your teammate? I would recommend doing it if you can't spend it all and he can, but otherwise, slam down more Warp Gates and don't build more than three probes per mineral patch unless you're expanding and planning to transfer.

The story is really nice, the way it's told is freaking awesome.

@DrRusty: if you have to many minerals you are not building enough stuff. Probe saturation should be between 2 and 3 per minerals, i mostly go with 2 per mineral, but at my first base, before i expend i get more to transfer. Building more stuff is the way to go.

On one base, you should have 3-4 wargate to burn all your money, on 2 base, around 8 warpgates, + stuff going on around, like upgrade and a little thec. After that i don't really know, since game do not last that long normally.

Yah I've been experimenting with how many probes to build and when to gauge if I should expand or not (usually depends on what the other team is doing). If they rush early I'll hold off on the expansion.

I JUST WON A 2V1 STARCRAFT RATED MATCH!! 1337 sauce yo.

I queue'd for a rated 2v2 and my partner decided he wanted to leave after the first 5 minutes. I'm like "okay I'm screwed eh?". Well I used some awesome tactics to beat em. I used some of the protoss drop ships to put send a few stalkers into one of the guy's base. Well he sends his zealots to kill my stalkers and I put em back into the drop ship. I go to the other dude's base, but I don't get so lucky. He's put turrets around his entire base and destroys my dropship + the 4 stalkers inside. Well lucky for me, he's going completely defensive because he's spending all his resources on nukes. Unlucky for him, I put photon cannons around my entire base (including near my probes) so he can't nuclear launch me. He tries about 10 times but only gets 1 off on my gateways. From here on it's a pretty even match. The protoss dude's resources are way low and the other dude spend all his resources on nukes. I'm over here with 2 carries (2 on the way), a mothership, and about 10 stalkers, zealots, and 6 or 7 dark templars.

mmmmmm sweet victory. I've never gotten a chance to use the warp gateway thing + dropship movable pylon thing. I was going to try it. There's never been a way to find an open spot in someone's base to make use of it. It's a cool idea but hard to implement and actually gain something out of it.

Playing a normal match made me realize how zetta slow I am in making decisions. Once I turn to scout or send a troop to an area my mineral count skyrockets. Need to start hotkeying an SCV or two to build stuff faster.

Grah. My campaign keeps crashing whenever I go close the Protoss/Zerg research tree in the Lab.

LET'S DISCUSS CUSTOM MAPS.

Know any particularly good ones? I've tried out mainly the tower defense ones and the only one I haven't completed yet is HellTD. Been trying to look for a Dragon Ball Z map like the ones they got back in SC and so far haven't found one yet.

Gratz on the win =D.

As for the warp gateway thing + dropship movable pylong thing, the best place (luck) I've had with it was directly behind their base around their SCVs. Normally with that, you just have to make sure you don't rush with air, otherwise they're going to build a ton of turrets as a precaution. Also, I'm sure you know that the best unit to use in that situation is DT. Try not to attack anything unless you already know whats in their base, if not use that opportunity to scout and destroy things that may potentially destroy you (Thors, Ultras, etc).
