A new project?
#1
So since I've lost the will to keep working on my HS mule for my mage and go back to the ulti spamming life, I have a question for you dear SP. I need a new project for MS. I've played all three mage classes, and boy am I tired of them. I need a nice change of pace without risking my life or limb (aka, wasting time for nothing or spending massive amounts of money.)

Here are the current character's I've yielded so far:

142 I/L Arch Mage
83 Chief Bandit
70 Aran
46 Hunter
50 F/P Wizard
67 Cleric
50 Gunslinger
20 Dual Blader (lolol)

I WOULD continue my DB, but its not really my thing to spend roughly $30 on skills. I just am mostly looking for something FUN to play again. With all of my friends quitting and the like, I'm willing to start fresh in a new server. However, in Mardia, I have around ~700mil to support a new character.

To be honest I'm just unsure what to do SP, I need your advice ): I just want to have fun~

Ah! At a class-crossroads of yourself now, huh? Well don't worry, I'am here. Smile

Having played all the adventurer classes to 50, I believe I can safely say most of them are pretty boring in second job =S

Although, I had a blast playing aran/dual blade in second job.

I know aran's in early third job are brutal to train on, but they get even more fun Smile Once you hit 120, man you'll feel great. If the aran isn't tickling you in places that make you say "oh, that feels good..." then I suggest try going back to your DB. They're fast, fluid, and vicious. But if they're just not your cup of tea, I will suggest this;

Buccaneer. Who doesn't like punchin' people IN THE FACE!?!?! They got some cool skills, offer a fun playstyle, and you get to hear punching noises all the time! haha

Another serious suggestion, a Cygnus Knight. These guys are built exactly for what you are looking for; being fun as hell in 1st/2nd/3rd job, and looking cool and kicking ass while doing it! I suggest a dawn warrior.

Unless you have a real deep mean streak and just like punching people IN THE FACE!!! Then I suggest making a thunder breaker =D

Aran 3rd job is really fun. Couldn't put him down and just take the ring, Full Swing felt too awesome.

Aran is really fun, at least for me it was until I reached gallops, there I got bored and left it at 106 xD
Buccaneers are simply amazing, I love being one and simply don't get bored.
You cold also continue the slinger, they're fun up to 50 at least (that's what I've played on them), but they seem really fun at higher levels.
A page seems awesome too, I've been considering to make one, but I'm just too lazy to train anything past 50... the 50-70 feels boring to me, same with 105-120

Well Larka....

If you want a change from all of your characters you listed, perhaps try playing a Warrior? Being a Melee class is pretty fun, dishing out big damages at close range. Plus, there's a variety of skills to play with for 2nd/3rd job warriors, and you can put yourself either as a support (party) guy or a solo person.

This was what I did one year ago, when I realized I need a change in style from ulti-spamming day in, day out on my F/P AM. Made my DrK, and never regretted my decision.

though DKs get the major shaft (from waht i hear) sounds like a good fit for you.

If iI were in your spot i'd do the slinger, they get more fun as you progress (as i've heard also) and you come out ahead with an awesome boat to ride/attack from.

OOOOORRRRRRRR wait for mech/WH/BMage and sell leech while you can/acrew as much money as you can

When I found out that the CS book do in fact drop, I got a little excited and am hoping people will continue to confirm Cyanne's speculated list.

Hahaha! I do love your thorough response! Yes, I was mildly killing some seal in Aqua on my Aran, and I was reminded she was a darling to make when Arans were first released. Though I'm afraid about the Aran low HP range, and my inability to understand warriors may not allow me to do more so end-game things like Zak or HT (should the Mardian groups decide to stop being so exclusive). Regarding DBs, once I found out that the CS books were actually dropping from mobs, I got excited. It wasn't so much the idea that I could get them for free, but it was more so that Nexon wasn't completely trying to take advantage of our money. I know in the end, my impatience will get the better of me and I'll wind up buying them anyways! But yes, after watching Cyanne's DB video, I was like omg that's so hot do want <3 And unfortunately I'm more of a lover than a fighter. So I don't think I can live the Bucc lifestyle. With cygnus, again, I feel like I won't be making the most out of it since I'll be missing out on a lot of end game material ): <3 Thanks for the advice though Liquid! You're such a sweetheart!

See, the thing is I'm intensely drawn to speed and agility, when I saw that Arans swing around these gigantic vicious poles around like ballerinas pirouetting in the sky, I went crazy. I went from 1-70 in 10 days on only 2x. But I got VERY burned out by the time I got my ring, I couldn't stand my Aran very much longer. Funny enough, out of all the characters I listed, she's the only one who's never played but the most decently equipped.

I think right now I'm caught between my DB and Aran. Both are incredibly fast, and rape mobs deliciously. Though I would have considered a sair, I've heard so much about the awkward playstyle. Can anyone explain why they're so fun? I'd love to hear your thoughts about it!

At where you are right now for your Aran, Larka, it will be somewhat tough on the road to 120, but it will be rewarding after that.

What I admire about Arans is their unique ability to stack up comboes via button mashing and doing all sorts of crazy things afterward. Through this, you can pretty much decide (on a split-second notice) what you really like to do to make your training enjoyable. Sometimes though, I think their attack speed (and damage output) is up to hekking status. Rolleyes

I suggest getting to outlaw on your slinger and maxing triple shot/ice splitter! That was truly gamechanging for me both when I hit lvl 20 triple shot and when I hit the lvl 26 ice splitter letting me for the first time damage over 3 mobs at once.
Now it's just fun as hell I have gotten to 89 and am getting a 6 mob flamethrower for even more fun with my skills.
