1H or 2H blunt weapons?
#1
I made a page since I have always wanted one, and this question has been running through my mind:

Should I use One-Handed or Two-Handed blunt weapons?

what are the pros and cons of both?

which one do you recommend?

I don't recommend using either. Swords are cheaper and faster.

In terms of just 1h vs. 2h though
1h: slightly faster
2h: slightly better range, slightly more damage

This is only up to level 120, at which point 1h is gonna have more damage and the same range with Blast.

Well, This is enough to make me want to use 1h blunt weapons, is there anything else I should know?

Swords are cheaper? Since when?

Since we found out what the damage formulas are in 2006.

Obviously you can't compare equal stats, I mean, a 105 atk Claw is not the same as a 105 atk Sword - so why should a 105 atk Sword equal a 105 atk BW?

If you compare them based on price to damage, the swords are cheaper.

I've always seen Swords and sword scroll sell for multiple times that of Blunts. I remember sword 60% scrolls going for 2m while blunts went for 500k.... Not sure what it is now.

Sword scrolls are definitely still more expensive.
But in terms of dps you actually get the most bang for your buck from a sword.

BWs are just too far behind speed-wise and then formula-wise when you factor in slash/stab.

Not to mention the fact that maker/reverse weapons close the gap for the most part as far as how much it costs to make the actual weapon you'll be scrolling.
Box events are exceptions but the lackluster stats on the reverse weapons that come from them make it a less than ideal replacement.

If your mind is set with BW, go one handed and work your way into an Attack Shield and a Crushed Skull. I've seen one just today with 117 attack clean, that's 9 above average at the same level and that's not even the max attack it can come with. 1H also allows two uses of potential stats (weapon and shield) instead of just one (weapon). It's more expensive, but it will be much easier to scroll a good mace than a sword.

This is backwards - the sword will be more expensive, but easier to scroll. It's not easy buying BW scrolls or weapons in bulk (especially reverse weapons, lol) which is what you'd need in order to get anywhere with scrolling.

Man the choice is hard, but according to Stereo, Swords are better because of speed, damage formula, and their availability.

I already maxed BW mastery, lol

Don't be so glum, in big bang BW and Sword masteries are rolled into one.

If you can wait a few months for that to happen then there you go

I can wait. I favor BW more anyway.

Rolled into the same formula, true. Weapon-speed is another letdown, which give swords a higher potential. But one could consider BWs more easily after BB, as it is possible to get higher damage than sword-users.

Frankly, I don't see much wrong with blunt weapons. True, they're slower and people tend to just drop the scrolls for blunt weapons rather than spend the time waiting for a buyer (at least the people I know), but BWs look cooler and will soon have the same attack formula as swords.

I do wish they would give them, as well as axes, a slight boos to damage on swings though, otherwise their speed will cause people to be turned off to them even post BB.

The thing is, if you're casual enough that you're not gonna be zomgfunded out the ass, and you don't care about doing more damage than everyone else in your group, it doesnt matter which weapon you choose.

Most Blunt Weapons may be slower than their sword counterparts, but there are some fast maces like the Crushed Skill that do just fine. If you like the look of blunt weapons, in Big Bang casual players wont be able to even tell a noticeable difference in BW and sword.

When I say casual, I'am not using it as a derogatory term =] just means you don't waste your life on the game. My advice? Go blunt weapons if you want, personally I think BW's look awesome.

The crushed skull is a normal speed weapon, so still trailing behind every 1h sword.
Though I do agree with the rest of what you wrote. If you are in it for fun and don't have that damage whore attitude that a lot of people develop then there is nothing wrong with going with a bw.

However, if you are doing it because it seems like it is cheaper and you think you can actually get a better dps out of it, then stick to swords and buy a cs cover if the looks bother you that much.
