Hunters, Rangers, Bow Masters skill build post Big Bang?
#1
I was just wondering what a good skill build for post Big Bang Hunters, Rangers, and Bow Masters. I am only lvl 60 atm but with the new EXP curve(as long as we get it) I should be able to make it to lvl 70. Plus with the skills redone for the most part it would be nice to see what I have to redo. Thanks!

max everything except AB or DS in first, max everything in 2nd, max everything and leave inferno (or any skill of your choice) at 11 for third. i'm not at 4th yet :p

That's why he (or she if that is the case) said AB or DS. If you choose to max Arrow Blow there's no point in maxing Double Shot and vice-versa.

Why not skip Focus and just get both AB and DS? They both look useful, tbh. Focus, on the other hand..woo, avoid! And some accuracy that we already have a ton of!

EDIT: Gonna do a full build in a moment.

Leaving inferno at 11 seems like bad move. Thrust is still easily left at a low lvl.

Arrow Bomb is your main attacking skill until 3rd job.

Maxed Arrow Blow is immediately replaced by Lv1 Arrow Bomb...

And one Arrow Blow replaces any level of Double Shot.

So skip DS in 1st, and skip Improved Fundamentals in 2nd?

Or would one skip AB in 1st due to it quickly being obsoleted by Arrow Bomb, and then get DS & fundamentals to have both a single target skill and an effective mobbing skill?

You can't skip Fundamentals. If you did, restart. You've done something wrong in life.

The only reason to get Double Shot is that when you have Fundamentals, you'll be using Double Shot to hit PQ bosses and Mu Lung or whatever the pomegranate. It is otherwise completely useless, especially after 10 Bomb.

It seems like it'd be ideal to start with 16 AB, get 20 DS, ignore Focus, and then just max everything in 2nd job. O.o

Personally, I'd rather have all that extra Avoid to improve my survivability. Which is near non-existent because I tend to walk right onto mobs in what look to be the most epic fail moments in maple history.

Would the avoid added by Focus even make a difference?

Plus, recasting stuff like that all the time is a pain in the ass D:

MSBB makes it 60 avoid at max, so I'm sure it should make some difference.

You'll have to recast Booster and Soul Arrow anyway. What'll one additional skill do?

What about Power Knockback? It almost seems completely useless now that there is no minimum range. You could max Arrow Blow in 1st, then skip PKB in 2nd and proceed to max DS. Being able to Dojo and fight bosses in 2nd Job seems more useful than having ANOTHER mobbing skill that is out damaged by both Arrow Blow and Arrow Bomb.

Wasn't the avoid formula changed?

And it gets annoying, trust me. I've got an Aran in 3rd job - recasting Booster, Smart KB, Snow Charge, Body Pressure, and Combo Drain every 2 minutes is a huge pain in the ass.

usually we don't like taking stuff in the face ccause it drains pots and such. But yeah power knockback is practically useless since we have no min range now. I'd still prefer to be out of range to conserve as many potons as possible.
