Obligatory Dual Blade Question Thread
#1
So, dual blades are coming out, and I have a few questions.

1. I hear that they have low HP. Would washing be mandatory? As in, you need to wash or you will die training. Or is it just if you want to boss. If the answer is yes to either, how much would you need to wash?

2. Not sure if there's a thread for this, but if there is, feel free to call me an idiot and direct me towards it. What would be the recommended AP build for a DB in the long run? (Low-dex, dexless, etc)

3. If I were to take the level 30 Dual Blade instead of starting it from the beginning, would there be anything that I would be missing out? (SP, Items, etc)

Thanks.

1. Not sure, doubt it since they have so many "invincible frames."

2. I would say low dex, really doesnt matter with the potential system and big bang coming soon, but just add dex as you need it to wear equips that your equip's stats don't cover.

3. Since this wasn't in KMS (I don't think) no one knows.

I find it kinda dull to start a level 30 DB from scratch anyway... don't you lose a ton of storyline? Also probably explorer ring quest.

Oh, bonus question. Would you need to get the Tornado Spin mastery book? Every guide or build I've read says it's not very useful and only put 1 or 0 points into it.

I'm gonna think the answer would be no, but since you get 1 sp from the book, would it make a giant difference? I'm thinking the answer to that would also be no. Just looking for a second opinion.

If you had to skip a mastery book, you would probably go for Tornado Spin.

Tornado spin is only useful after mid 3rd job for some reason.

1. From what I've seen on Dual Blade videos/from other people, they do have fairly low HP. At 120 or so, they have 5600-6000 HP with 2k MP. Dual Blades also have no skills to reduce damage of any kind nor do they really have any party skills. They pretty much depend on heal, HB and invincibility frames in bossing.

2. Well, the idea behind any build is either to equip to the items you have or to maximize damage. DEXless if your damage-centered, low/reg if you just want to wear the equips you have.

3. More than likely they would give you all the SP from levels 10-30. All of the new events except for the class-specific scroll/magnifying gift quest and the offline cash prize will be able to be completed by a new level 30 Dual Blade. Why do I think this? Because it says that "once you have completed your first job advancement you will receive blah blah blah...". More than likely the new character that you get will be level 30 and already a Dual Blade so my guess is that these quests will not be able to be done. But if your all for leveling up fast and missing out on the beginning story with a few quests gone, I say go for it. But I could be completely wrong.

As for missing out on any mastery books, tornado spin can surely be skipped. It will save you a good 3900nx. But if you want to max our all of the other masteries, prepare to spend 32,500 NX.
