For me the combo of dash+recoil is extremely fast, both in travel and in training so that's what I chose on the poll.

And gunslingers can totally back me up when I say that recoil shot doesn't cause this lag at all. Apparently, there's something in the coding that requires your MP (and possibly position) to be updated/synched after you use a buff/movement skill, before you can use a pot. This does not happen with attacks, hence why recoil shot works fine all the time. It's very easy to see when you lag a lot. back in the days of lag spikes and when I played a priest, I could easily see it, my MP would go down about 2 seconds after I tele'd and at that exact moment I could tele again.

While training at Twisted Jesters, I could never use a pot while poison breath's or teleport's animation was active; similarly, on my aran, I couldn't use a pot while attacking with it. I don't lag at all, so it can't be that. Stereo Wrote:[color=#a000e0]It's also useless in maps with monsters, cause if you get KB'd, it screws the whole thing over. I'd say FJ and Teleport are definitely the most practical of these (compared to jump+combat step and jump+soul runner, anyway - I don't have recoil shot yet) FJ because you can use it while jumping, Tele cause it skips behind mobs. Recoil shot can be spammed more (or that might have been a big bang update change, not sure), so its utility went up, but having to turn around when using it makes it a lot slower than flash jump even if you could spam indefinitely.

Maybe attacks that cause an area of effect over time attack cause it. And what I meant with triple throw is attacking, and withing a fraction of a second, pot, then, wait for the lag to wear off, keep attacking. No attacks can scape pot lag. Not even standing up if you were sitting.

On my dawn warrior
i have beaten others in races. A dawn with haste and the soul runner glitch goes far. By pressing jump and soulrun at the same time it skews and goes really far. if you jump and use Soul Runner IMMEDIATELY, you'll go much further if you jump and use Soul Runner IMMEDIATELY, with haste you go a crazy weird angle distance.

Dawn Warrior's massive weakness is that Soul Runner has a 1.5 second cooldown. You can cast the other skills as soon as you need them again, you have to run for a bit between Soul Runners. There really is no comparison to FJ, FJ is just a lot quicker even with both having Haste.

I'm really a fan of Teleport and Flash Jump. I voted for Teleport, because to me, it gives you greater accuracy in reaching your destination.

While I agree that I would rather have Teleport since it's more precise and useful than the rest, I voted Flash Jump because it's still the fastest. I do enjoy the new Recoil though.

I prefer Recoil for its incredibly short use time (no such thing as pot lag for us) and ability to finish monsters to any of those skills. I've never had trouble with it being "imprecise."

Judging by where the monsters are placed, I just decide when to Combat Jump, and just normally Step through them if I'm just trying to travel. While training, I usually use Combat Jump if I'm trying to get to a really far away monster quickly, and Combat Step has its use to place me for closer monsters as well. I usually just Combat Jump right into a monster so I drop straight down in front of it. Body Pressure lets me damage it at the same time, though that's not really of any significance, it can also activate its debuff. It also sets me up in a better position to not only attack it, but any monsters behind it as well. For an Aran, this skill has loads of utility that a lot of other jobs might find garbage. I just wish the delay from using it and attacking were shorter so you could pin monsters with it, but that'd probably be too overpowered. As for Jump+Soul Runner, I think it's quite easy to pull off, but that's probably because I used to main an Archer. And Maple skips frames exactly every fifteen seconds I believe because of some Nexon papayagotry.

And then there's freeze standing. Alloy Wrote:I believe that only works for buffs. Because I can totally use a potion while I'm using triple throw. You can pot right away after you use an attack skill, but you can't attack right away after you use a pot. Item pick-up also causes the same "pot lag". This is why you can keep brandishing the same skele for a whole minute while lagging but you can't use your brandish anymore after you use a pot. It's also why it's more efficient to pot/loot in between attack animations while they're still active because the pot lag delay would be gone by the time your attack animation is complete.

That's exactly my point. However, there's particular exceptions, as I and others said, where certain skills do cause it. Not sure on warriors, but there are some.

I voted for flash jump because well other than teliporting up and through walls flash jump works in just about every situation

I don't know, I can effortlessly do the combat step jump method, and it's actually one of the most effective training skills I've ever had, it's better than FJ not because it goes faster, but because Aran can attack upclose. Flash jump will often send you into an enemy as well(of course it won't for YOU, I'm sure you KNOW how to use it good) but if used correctly, you can pretty much go from mulungs beginner practice field half way, and hit a monster, and keep your combo meter from resetting, even more depending on what your jump is.
When it goes to pure speed, I'm sure flash jump is faster, it's also easier to spam if you don't lag(I don't lag, so maybe that's why I claim Cstep is this good), but I don't believe speed is the only thing that is in mobility, it goes a nice distance even if you don't do it off the ledge, and I HAVE beaten teleport spammers in races with it before(even with the client-sided latency, they also admitted that they saw me pass the checkpoint first). Maybe we're looking at this the wrong way. Maybe Flash jump isn't better than CStep, and Cstep isn't better than flash jump, rather they are both the same-tier, just in different fields which makes them subject to debate.

Updated OP after getting Flash Jump tests. Results were interesting to say the least, but I want people's inputs on how they use their Flash Jumps. Peak Jumping is definitely better for evading monsters, and losing momentum would help keep you from crashing into monsters, but as I was a Shadower, and I would either Boomerang Step or Assaulter out of it, and cover crazy distance with Flash Jump-momentum Boomerang Step.

*cough* As I've played many many characters.
If you're lagless Fj over a wide area and time (like starting Hob pq quest maps) Fj is the best. But if you lag/short distance Teleport is conventient and efficient.

OB3LISK Wrote:But if you lag/short distance Teleport is conventient and efficient. Umm, no way. Teleport is near useless with lag. Its just like pot lag or loot lag, you can't do anything else until the game hears back from the server. Same is true for combat step in lag. If the lag is bad enough and you have speed equips, it's faster to just move normally rather that teleport and then wait for the update. The idea of tele-attack that really old guides mention seems no more than a myth. Maybe they changed how it works at some point. More on topic: Combat step in El Nath (without snowshoes) is fun!

In defence of recoil shot I'd like to say that I think both jump and speed factor in whereas with teleport only speed would be factored in. Furthermore recoil+float resists lag better then other moves. I also think it's wrong to use this definition for mobility (being fastest on flat platform). In differnt situations like a slope, recoil+float would win out, el nath, combat step would win out. I'd just like to think that Corsairs are very versatile in their movements. They can use combinations of battleship, dash, float and recoil shot to alter their speed. In most mobile class, I think my vote would have to go to dual blade with their various moves involving moving while attacking like FA, BS, TS and FJ. Second obviously going to Corsairs non biased at all
.
