Movie: The Last Airbender
#41
the idea of the last airbender was pretty good, but the screenwriter and director of this movie needs to...........
to be honest if this film was made into 2 or 3 parts and have some focus points and dramatic points of the movie, it would have been way better. but the fact that they cramped so many information in 90 minutes is ridiculous. they leave out so many things that could've been explored throughout if they didn't rush it

How exactly do you sell hollywood on a nine part series? Trilogies are doable.

There was no way to compress the entire 60 hours of the three avatar "books" into three 90 minute, or even 120 minute, movies, without doing what was done, and even less chance to turn all three books into a separate trilogy because the audiences wouldn't keep interested through three sets of two or three because there isn't enough plot resolution to make breaking points.

The absolute best he could've done is added 10 to 30 minutes to the movie and used it for pacing so the lines didn't feel like the whole movie was on fast forward.

it is totally doable to break this movie into 2 parts, each with different focus points. i havent read the book or seen the animated book 1 or w.e but with the plot and the movie given, even i can come up with general storyline for the 2 part of this movie. and ur talking about hollywood people here, they have imaginations and ideas far more than i am, and they can make ways to PR for splitted part of each book. heck look at harry potter, book 7 is getting split into 2 and ppl are still interested because once it's good then general audience then people will see it. it is better than having a bunch of ideas cramped into 90 minutes of movie to make a disaster

I'm just going to have to disagree with you.

There would not be enough plot to get interest, not just from the viewing public but from Hollywood itself.
You can't just insert story elements that weren't in the original without pissing off the people you're trying to cater to. The changes they did make alienated enough people.
Pitching it as a trilogy is one thing, pitching it as more than that is virtually impossible unless you're talking something on the level of Harry Potter or Twilight in sheer popularity.

the plot itself (from the movie) is enough to make it interesting with a more developed and more character-focused than just a glance through

Development only takes time, not additional movies.
If they'd added 30 more minutes for pacing and development it would've been fine.

They could not however have added another 90 minute movie to it.

The Last Air Bender movie has to be the most worst movie I've ever seen that I've regret even watching it...........I don't think the director did enough research. At least he should've talked to someone who actually watched the whole series.
I got a bit pissed off when the director took out the Kyoshi Warriors......

-Also since when Fire Benders needed a source of fire? I thought they can make their own fire.
-The "Bending" effects are a bit.........boring.
-The whole fight between Zuko and Katara wasn't really much of a fight at all......
-The only KNOWN person that can make his own fire is Zuko's uncle. Lol the other fire bender d00ds are like "OMG He can make his own fire!"

I guess that's all I have to say that I could point out, of course I could be leaving out something. But they're not worth mentioning at this point on.
