I just don't get it; why is it so hard to just greatly scale up the tax rate in response to this? It would have been a waaaaay better response to the extra meso in the economy than making everyone rage THIS HARD.

I don't see any problem in this: First you start off by banning all direct offenders, then the hefty taxes suck the illegitimate influx out of the economy over time. Once deflation begins to seem a bit bad, normalize the taxes again. The taxes are somewhat justified, as im sure people intentionally began overpricing their items once word got out anyway.

Does it still affect legit players? Yes, but a heck of a lot less than this all out bonefest.There's no way to prevent legit players from being affected by what i know... Why am I smarter than a company that's been running this MMO for years?

Nexon set a bad precedent with me that I don't think I'll be able to get over. Whenever I hear of a new hack sweeping around I'll know they're not afraid to bust out a roll back now.

the main problem with the ticket system is that the ones answering them lump you in with the idiot that lost his 20 mesos and a +200 zard, which can be actually gotten back over time. In reality, the ring is limited, untradable, and can't be returned through regular play. Do they realize that? Is there a way to CONFIRM that they realize that?
