Potential Scrolls' Impact in GMS
#1
Since the potential system will come out in the near future because we are already getting the Chaos bosses, many of us are already preparing. Most of the common class gears these days are awfully low leveled. Pink Adv. Capes are level 50. Stormcasters are level 50. Work gloves are level 10. How is this system going to work out for people who want to save money and share gear with other characters?

Stormcaster Gloves (+7)

19 Atk with 6%,6%,6% boost on STAT is obviously inferior compared to

Level 80 Class gloves (+7)

14 Atk with 9%,9%,9% boost on STAT.

Also KMS is known for not having gachapon. In GMS, we have all sorts of equips such as Tree Branch Noses, Rat Mouths, Raccoon Masks and Elemental Wands. It will make gear planning very confusing. Also due to the explosive nature of the scrolls, we can expect to break a lot of our existing gear. Unlucky folks might explode billions-worth of hard-earned equipment.

Anyone have thoughts on this topic? I'm pretty sure people have a good understanding about these scrolls by now, especially with all these extractions.

There's really not much more to say on this topic that we haven't said since the scrolls were released in KMS(T).

I'll laugh at those who are stupid enough to blow up their entire set of gear, trying to make themselves godlier and faster than anyone else.

I know they're released in both Korean servers. I'm opening discussion for GMS impact. GMS is vastly different from KMS. Most people don't use class equipment here. Since this system is a big hit to the efficiency of common class equipment, I suspect many will switch to class equipment.

Low level equips will still be popular with those who are at those levels. But if you're the type of person who wants to keep up with the joneses you better get ready to be able to equip level 70+ weapons and armors since even a chaos perfect BWG will be outdone by a class glove with half the attack.

That's... not even close to what I was implying, but okay.

Like I said, it'll start out with idiots blowing up their gear, making the "better" gear disappear for a while. Eventually, GMS will retake its place as the single strongest verson of Maple. You'll eventually see people hitting the 999,999 cap averagely with Onyx Apples, or possibly even without.

If the 10x equip drop rate isn't added to GMS, you'd be smart to be that equips will definitely inflate in GMS for a long while. The economy will definitely be hectic until the scrolls have had their time to impact the community enough and become common enough to be another regular thing, similar to the Dark Scrolls that were added back when Jipangu was added to GMS. Remember that?

I'm still abit confused as to how this potential system works.

what do potential scrolls do and do items already come with + certain %'s. do potential scrolls take up slots and do they add %'s or random effects similar to chaos scrolls ?.

someone should make a guide explaining this

I'm planning to make an okay piece of equipment, use potential scrolls on it until that type of equipment becomes pretty good, then attempt it on my normal piece of gear. If my normal piece of gear breaks I'll at least have a pretty good substitute until I can make a better one. And I'd recommend the same to anyone else who doesn't want to go around completely naked.

Impact? Mass quitting of casual players... Potential scrolls = NX Wh()re Story... Your level doesn't really matter anymore, it's all NX wh()ring:

- Non-potential scrolled lvl200 with extreme-good equips: 999 + 200 = 1199 mainstat
- Potential scrolled lvl 130 with extreme good equips: 650 + 200% = 1950 mainstat

The lvl 130 will almost do 2x the damage of a lvl200, only if you pay enough NX to Nexon...

Pserver much? Nexon really needs to nerf potential scrolling... +25% stats max is ok, but the +200% mainstat (or even higher... -.-) is just total fail...

Expect the meso:nx ratio to go way up, 70- common stuff to go down, dragon spirits/dragon scales/time pieces to go up, and scrolls like glove att/earring any stat/shoe jump 60%s to go up, 71+ earrings/capes to be actually worth something, etc.

heh let the damage obsessed waste their money on it..that IS the plan i would imagine behind needing nx to reroll the stats gained.
for your average person you can just use potentials on your equips and live with whatever it gives you or get new equips and start again.
so as always NX is not required to have godly equipment...just luck and determination

Is there a cap on total stats? The max a stat can be is 1999, right?

Sounds like a challenge Wink

The one thing I will say about the potential scrolls is that the gap between the super rich (and consequently, strong) will grow even larger over the average player. I would not be shocked to see some players do 2-4 times the damage of the average player just because of how good their % gear is.

Isn't that already the case in KMS? gMS is even more stat whoring I think.

And as always NX bypasses the need for ridiculous amounts of luck or patience. What'm I going to do with my 35 stat overall that I'm using right now when I identify it to give HP recovery or something? I'm not going to want to Maker and scroll another one. They really should have made it so you can't stack the same bonus on one equip. As it is no one will have any reason to roll for anything but +% to whatever their primary stat is.

Eh, I don't see the big deal with the whole power gap thing. It has always been the same, and really, I doubt casual/average players will care that much. Maybe I'm alone here, but I consider myself a casual player and the only thing I care about is to optimize the power of my character with the resources I have on my hands. This potential scroll system will be a godsend for those of us sporting 5 atk gloves and 100% overalls on their 7xs. lol

Plus, the godlier the top dogs aim, the better their scraps will be for those of us on the bottom of the pile. Waste away and become as godly as possible. I'm cheering for all of you. Oh, those 12 atk gloves not godly enough for you? Throw them here, I'll take care of them, no prob. xD

\I can't freaking wait for this patch. Going equipment hunting for my Aran and it will be awesome. At last I will have something to do on the game and will have a reason to get the fux out off NLC. >_<

Good thing I have a level 100 9 attack glove on my BM (u/h even) and a level 110 pirate glove with 10 dex/str and 4 attack (really need to hammer <_<) for my Bucc.

Ive never really seen the appeal of WGs other than the lol-less glasses and those who just need to do a few more damage when they are low leveled.
