How would you change the world?

It was just an herbicide/fertilizer combo. No pests. :<
Our spreader sucked and clumped everything along the wheel marks. Nice brown stripes across the lawn.

So you are saying companies should be shut down for producing products that customers continue to buy and use because they work and are effective?

WHICH IS WHY THEY MUST DIE AT MY HAND.

@Kurtle. It's doing a really slow job where it wasn't overapplied. It's working slower than the bag claimed it would.

Well, you win some and you lose some. Grass is quite the peach in Michigan.

My dad wants me to attempt to plant in our patchy spots. In July. I keep hesitating, I wonder why?

That is just like laying sod in July, bad idea.

He also told me to spread about a cubic yard and a half of dirt around the lawn, anywhere that tree roots need to be covered. I understand the need to put the dirt somewhere, especially since I want to get another order of wood chips to finish off the gardens, but our lawn is a very art deco smattering of green and yellow stripes with brown polka dots and smears. And I won't be around in fall or spring to properly plant grass.

I'm not even going to go into why that answer is only 10% correct right now.

Why do you not just answer? You like to act like you are that much more informed about the Earth, just tell us why I'm wrong and this would be so much easier than dealing with you different complexes.

If I weren't a lazy ass I'd have just hand weeded them and not taken my whole lawn in the process. But I'm a lazy ass with bigger projects to tackle. SUCK IT CORPORATIONS!

Hand weeding is tedious and doesn't always work...

The reason I'm not going to tell you right now is because I don't want to spend another X amount of hours listing every single fact I have/ Having to try to reasonably and calmly get my point across to people who think I'm wrong. I have a family to spend time with. At the first part, all I'll say is that I took AP Environmental Science and learned about all the s'hit we're doing to the only place we can live. I received a 5 in the course (I couldn't wait for my results any longer, so I called) as well as an A+ both semesters. My parents are both environmentalists, yes we're Green, and they have countless books about pretty much every topic imaginable in Environmental Science. I love this planet and will do anything in my power to fix the problems it has.

So there, you have your reason for now. Besides, all this arguing today has left my body horribly fatigued. Let me eat and spend time with my family, in peace.

Who actually puts time into a forum board in order to articulate convincing points for other people to understand?

But yeah, I wish my dad had just gotten plain fertilizer. I sympathize with Holy and his city. I wouldn't want incompetent gardeners screwing up my water resources or native species or neighborhood outdoor pets or whatever the hell reason that city has. The city has just as much right to protect its residents from health hazards as Scotts has to be mad at them for destroying one of their markets. But health > profits, so it's on the company to come up with a product that's both safe and effective, should such a thing exist. There's also a good argument that home fertilizing is a wholly unnecessary industry and should die anyway. How can they compete with free compost made from your own waste or a little good-old fashioned manual labor, care, and attention to your plants? Ah, I remember now, we're lazy bastards.

Swerve also makes a good point
tl;dr I'M SAVING THE EARTH ONE BAG OF HERBICIDE AT A TIME! HAHA!
