Nexon Wrote:Dual Blade is coming up and it’s coming up fast! We’ve answered some more questions Curious Maplers are inquiring about Dual Blade. If you missed our first Dual Blade Questions & Answers, you can find it here.

Q: How do you make a Dual Blade character?
A: There will be a button, just like with Aran, Evan, and Cygnus Knights, to create a Dual Blade character. It is an explorer but we gave it its own button so you can’t miss it.

Q: What are the skills like for Dual Blade?
A: Dual Blade will have fast, slashing, stabbing, and assassination skills, similar to the traditional Thief class. They will also have their own type of haste, endure, and blade booster skills. They will also have unique skills such as Mirror Imaging and Sudden Death for one hit kills. Dual Blade characters will be quite powerful in the Maple World.

Q: Will the Dual Blade Cash Shop shareable with Explorers?
A: Dual Blade characters will not be able to share their Cash Shop.

Q: Can Dual Blade characters enter Crimsonwood Keep Party Quest?
A: We haven’t made changes to the Crimsonwood Keep Party Quest to allow additional classes. Only the main Explorer classes will be able to participate. This does not mean that this will remain this way forever. Wink

I smell plot twist

Yeah, and maybe they'll eventually add in access by Legends too!

Did Nexon have an if-clause in their NPC script to check for each ID, or to check if int(jobID) == 4, var = thief?
I'd guess the latter, since they're Nexon.... :|

Is it actually that hard to add extra skill IDs to the list of the ones that already activate the sigils, really? If anyone knows any other reason it might be difficult for Nexon to allow more classes to enter ckpq, I would love to know. It feels like such an easy addition to me, but I'm not tech-savvy, maybe there's more to it than that. I'm quite sure there's no story-based reason to restrict access.

Story wise it may not be an option with what they're planning, as allowing Dual Blades to access it immediately would dishearten Aran and Evan players, and Aran and Evan may be getting their own thing for this. Or perhaps they're just being lazy and don't want to do it but still want your delicious hope.

1. Dual Blade: "It is an explorer but we gave it its own button so you can’t miss it."
2. Dual Blade = Explorers => Dual Blade will not be able to share Cash Shop with Explorers
3. Dual Blade = Explorers => Dual Blade can't enter CwKPQ, only the main Explorer classes will be able to participate, for the mean time...

Question: Why call them explorers... when every important thing only explorers can do, they can't... lol :')

Yes, adjusting CwKPQ for this, is extremely easy, 2 hours work max:
- Look up job ID's
- Add job ID's to entrance script
- Look up skill ID's
- Add skill ID's to the reactor-code in the sirgil-room maps...

Done... :')

This. They might as well not be explorers at all. No CWKPQ, no sharing CS inventories, totally different job advancement style (by this I mean no 1st-2nd-3rd-4th, DBs have like what, 6 different sections?), separate button from explorers. How are they even explorers at all besides from lv10-20 being the same as Thief? Lol.
