I have a question. Can be the new "Potential scrolling system" used on every equip or only on new Equips(after Patch release)? So if its possible to use it on already existing Gear i could buy some good clean gear in fm today and use the new scrolling system later
Is it possible to scroll makered equip by this way??

thanks for replies

Let's try to make this simple:

Right now, i have a 13 att SCG (no slots left). When the potential system comes out my glove will NOT have the "unidentified tag". I'll need to hunt bosses like Zak for 90% potential scrolls (or regular monsters for 70% potential scrolls). If the scroll fails, my SCG blows up, guaranteed. If it passes, my SCG will be tagged with "unidentified". I can now use a magnifying glass to "identify" it. This will give it a ranking: rare, epic, or unique. It will also give it 2 or 3 random stat boosts. How big those stat boosts are depend on the ranking I get for my SCG. The boosts on an SCG (lvl 50) possible are not as big as the boosts possible on lvl 71+ equipment.

So yeah, if you have gear right now, scroll it decently if you want. Then you can wait for the potential system to come out to get even more boosts on it. I'd suggest getting a 90% potential scroll as opposed to the 70% one if you're going to use it on well scrolled gear. It'll be worth not exploding equipment.

Can someone confirm that 2/3 potential slots are random and not permanent upon each miracle cube reset? I mean is it like rank (stays at current or +1, i.e. rare -> epic -> unique), where you have a chance to get it to 3 slots if it was 2 before cubing and stays 3 forever? Or does each identification give you either 2 or 3 slots each time. I really want to know if it's still good to get pre-existing equipment ready, thanks.

I dont understand what you mean by slots.

I think JellyFlower meant number of "options" or additional stats.

> 2 "slots"

EDIT: I read that someone (here on SP) got an improvement from +2bonuses to +3 through re-magnifying, not sure if legit though.

In the first "official" thread we had on the potential system, one of the people who contributed almost all of the stat bonuses possible to gain claimed that once your item received a certain number of "slots" as you say, it will keep that number of "slots" even after miracle cubes.

On the other hand, miracle cubes revert your item to unidentified and thus when you use a magnifying glass you get another shot at having your item be unique (the best one), even if it was just rare before.

Miracle cubes do not increase the ranking by 1, miracle cubes only revert the item to unidentified. Then comes a magnifying glass to randomly assign rare/epic/unique.

Could you, or someone else, elaborate on this a little more for me?

And do you have a chance at obtaining one of these skills with each potential scroll on the respective item, or do you need to use a certain number of potential scrolls on that specific item in order to activate the skill?

Let's reiterate:

Potential Scroll (70% or 90%): This ONLY gives the item the "unidentified" tag if it works. It does nothing else. Adds no stats.

Using a magnifying glass changes "unidentified" to any 1 of: Epic/Rare/Unique. Depending on which of these rankings you get, the stat boosts you can get may be higher (with unique offering the highest stat boosts).

If you don't like the stat boosts you have, use a miracle cube to go back to "unidentified". This let's you use another magnifying glass to get a chance at another boost.

You will only ever need to use 1 70/90% potential scroll (according to our local KMS source). The boosts you get are always random. You do not get better boosts for having reidentified X amount of times. You could start with really high +% luk boosts on one identification, but then get really low +%str boosts the next time.

does % stat apply after equip bonuses or before?

Does % stack on each other, i.e. first % equip gives 106% str and next 1 gives 106%*106%???

I guess we'll need more info on the potential slots, right now it's looking good, I thought once it's at 2, it's stuck at 2.

Regarding MW, bonuses (additive) are applied at the end after MW.

800 base luk with 70 luk bonuses on equip, 150% bonuses on equip, will give you something like

(800*1.15+70) * 1.5 = 1485 total luk

If this was targeted towards me, my question wasn't fully answered, but I do apologize for my misuse of words. I'm interested in the mini-buff skills specifically and how they are obtained. Would I need to keep using cubes to reset my equipment to unidentified and then use a magnifying glass and hope I get one of those boosts, or is there something more to it?

Should be random like the rest of the bonuses.

Does anyone know if Evan's Dragon Equips work with this system? If so, that would give them 4 extra equips to identify. Maybe that'll put them on par with Arch Mages after Big Bang Rolleyes.

This post confused me:::

Levels 1~30: Rare = 1%, Epic = 2%, Unique = 3%
Levels 31~70: Rare = 2%, Epic = 4%, Unique = 6%
Levels 71+: Rare = 3%, Epic = 6%, Unique = 9%

How is it possible that a lvl 1-30 equip only adds 3% yet this image shows a lvl 30 dagger with +6%? This is from Spadows blog. Might be an earlier test server version?
