The one thing thats always bugged me about maplestory.

Why the hell do assassins throw ninja stars with claws?

Sure, theres the typical ninja reference, throwing stars and falcon claws. Sure, yeah, whatever, but theres no such thing as throwing pieces of metal with a supposed weapon thats supposed to "Cut" and "Shred".

They need to equip a weapon, or else they'd have no Weapon Attack source. What would you have suggested?

Claws are the best thing to use, without being limited to nothing.

Isn't that what Gauntlets are for? Because armoured gloves are called gauntlets.

Using a regular glove would be pretty redundant, especially when you're already using a glove.
Claw is the next best thing.
Of course it shouldn't really be called a claw but whatever.
Its the best thing to use without using some stupid launcher or something.

That'd be pretty damn lame. I think they made a good choice with Claws, it fits nicely into the whole Thief theme.

The edged portion that protrudes from the end is used to latch onto stars and throw them easily and without harming yourself. It's also the same part of the claw that makes you think that they should be used in the same way that knuckles are used.

I would change the name, though.

you got a good point, claws should be a 2nd bandit wep not a weapon for throwing stars and maybe nexon should have just made their stars the wep. no recharge and give them slots/higher attack. whats wrong with that?
theres no need for a device to throw stars. believe me I can toss a bunch of stars at a branch of a tree till it falls off pretty damn fast and I've never gotten cut or w.e .

no idea, when I goto the park near my home and start tossing stars at a tree I have them in a small kind of pouch either wrapped around my left hand, in my left hand or on my chest. I can toss around 40 ( thats how many I got ) in around 35 seconds or so. and they're all shapped like steelys

Infighters have no issue attacking without a weapon. Attack could come purely from stars. Obviously this would need to rework current star attacks.

Actually sins throw stars with their bare hands, they only use the Claws when stabbing an upclose mob.

I wondered about that before but came up with three answers: Nexon thought carrying around a pouch full of stars would be silly, They decided to give them a weapon like archers, couldn't tell the difference between gauntlets and claws/didn't think anything was wrong with claws since they have a punching animation up close...
