Which generation is your favorite?
#1
Which generation is your favorite so far? For any reason you choose.

Mine's third generation, specifically Ruby. It's the most nostalgic for me, as well as being the first generation that I actually caught them all, except for Deoxys because they only gave it out in NYC like once without telling anyone. Hoenn is also one of the more interesting regions, as well as being the most beautiful so far. And the story line was much better than that of the other games.

FRLG did have a nice return to roots feel, with the Sevii islands adding quite a bit more to the game. The game pausing everytime you touched L or R or whatever it was got annoying. Glad those features didn't make it into HGSS.

Mine`s the third (Flame shield equiped!) mostly because it is the one with more to offer (R/S/E, FR/LG CS/XD) It had a lot of unique and good elements in it and unlike most people I really liked the pokemon designs.

4 for battle system, 2 for nostalgia.

I liked III and IV equally, but I picked III. III came with some tough decisions and necessary upgrades. There was just no room on a GBC cartridge for anything else, and on top of that a GBA can't trade with a GBC. Bold moves by Nintendo, as well as Pokemon XD being third gen. That game was badass.

3rd. Ruby, specifically.

It was just awesome.

Generation 1, since that's the one I followed when I was 10. lol

However, I loved all of the legendaries from Generation 2. Lugia and Suicune were my favorite pokemon.

Third generation. I had Ruby and FireRed.

Ruby was my first Pokemon game. I must have spend hundreds of hours on Ruby. There was literally nothing I didn't do with that game. I remember doing a whole playthrough without saving or turning off my SP, just to see if I could do it. The nostalgia is just overwhelming, and Hoenn is still my favourite region. Too bad a friend saved over my game, and then I lost it eventually... ):

And FireRed pretty much made me experience the 1st generation for the first time, but with better graphics and mechanics. I loved that was it was retro and new at the same time. Yeah...I lost that too. Now thinking about wanting to play Ruby or FireRed reminds me of the part of my childhood that I literally lost. Bittersweet memories.

Second Generation. Silver was the first pokemon game I've owned and it was a birthday gift along with a limited edition green.gold coloured gbc. Pokemon wasn't very big in Singapore then, but oh boy I was lucky to be able to have that game... Until someone stole it.

First Gen came closely behind, since Yellow was my second game. Visiting the original Kanto was a blast, compared to GSC's version of it.

Gen 3, eh I don't like it at all. I had Sapphire&Emerald but it was SOOOOOOOOOOOO boring (IMO) I never made it past badge 8 (S) and badge 4(E). Right Now I loaned my emerald catreidge to my friend to catch pogeys so I can transfer to HG.

Gen 4 looks spectacular (Dppt) but I never really played it much so except for HG so I can't say much. HG is a great remake, and that is the reason I'm back into pogeys.

but my ds brokedededed.

i have to say first gen was the best for me . first Pokemon game i had own and had a lot of fun. i would of picked 2nd gen but i didn't like the Pokemon from it. i did how ever like that the game did add the first continent to it. i really want to see more Pokemon games have more then just the first continent that you start off in ... the remake of red and green sucked with the islands i want a game that has all the continents in one.

You'll probably be waiting a long time.

I'mma have to say II. I originally went to go buy a mario game, but no one had it, so I ended up buying gold version instead.

I was blown away for the next few years. I did EVERYTHING in that game. My greatest achievement was probably getting my Ho-Oh to level 100 before selling it.
