No where does it imply that any skill books will be free. They're explicitly saying that if you don't want to pay for the books, don't play the damn class.

Yeah. That is almost exactly the same thing they said for Evan about not needing lv 5+ MG etc to play or level an Evan.

In which case they must trickle through the free market. The point in making it drop from higher level mobs is to increase the appeal of spending money so you don't have to deal with it.

I think Skillbooks should be untradeable, much less unlimitedly available through money-spending means.

Apparently I misunderstood how the system works. I thought you needed the books to get the skills at all.

Can anyone confirm which skills? I've heard 4, and then someone else said 6 in another thread.

Trust me though. No one will be willing to go without skills that require skill books. Slash storm (thus no bloody storm), mirror image, flying assaulter...they all suck at level 5 or 10 and it isn't possible to train with them. It was barely possible to train with them on tespia rates...

I'll back this post up. I was the first to start working on the Dual Blader on the KMST account (except Mazz, of course) and it was kind of a pain to use such limited skills. =/

Don't they have other skills? I've seen people train fine by mobbing with FA, then using the stab up skill.

In any case, if they're the same price as the evan ones, I suppose I could shell out $10 for all of them (assuming it's 4 and not 6).

CS skills? Hmm... as long as they are 4th job skills I'm fine with this. Not like I'll be reaching 4th job any time soon. I'll just play this until the potential system and MS2.0 comes. :p

Slash storm 20, tornado spin 20, flying assaulter 20, mirror image 30, sudden raid 30, and thorns effect 30 are the cash shop books. You can't get any of them above level 5 for the skills that max at 20 or level 10 for the skills that max at 30 without passing the mastery books. Normal versions of the books are available but only work at a 50% rate (even the 20 books) and don't give a free SP in the skill when used. Besides sudden raid and thorns effect, the rest of the 4th job books are only available in normal form, no CS versions are available. Dual bladers have the advantage when it comes to 4th job mastery books/skill books though because only one book is required for each skill as opposed to 2-3 for most other 4th job skills. The only exception to this is maple warrior, I don't think even venom 20 is necessary.

I guess that's 5 books that I need (I'm not even sure I'll get more than 1 tornado spin, let alone pay NX for a book). Hopefully I'll be able to pick them all up for under $10.

Bad try. People outside US/Canada (30-50% of the players) will still not be able to do those free nx offers, because of the IP block.

This game isn't "free" anymore. Nexon can lie as much they want, but game that is free to download but you need cash to progress in it IS NOT free.

No, he couldn't have meant that - he said "I want DB to be time limited and expire after the date has passed." What does limited mean if expire means that the opportunity to make one isn't permanent?
