#21
Hm, it looks nice and sleek compared to the old maple layout thats for sure. I like the look of the new Hp and Mp bar thingy.

Huh? They're still there at the bottom.

Actually... it's not half bad. I still prefer the way the level was displayed before, but it looks nice otherwise.

And they really need to make the backgrounds bigger for the new reso. :/

Eh...I don't like how glassy and bulb-like it's looking so far... but ah well. I'll just simply get used to it after a while.

They missed a few things. The stat and minimap windows are supposed to look glossy as well.

Yeah. There's quite a few stuff left that they have to complete. We'll probably see the entire User Interface completed in the next couple of weeks. They still have to change the Stat window, Skill window, Key Settings window, Maple Messenger, Mini-Map, World Map, Game Options, and System options.

I may have missed some stuff.

Not only that, but you just need to keep your HP full all the time now.

Berserking is obsolete...No more needing to worry about your HP, YOU CAN ZERK WITH FULL HP!!!

They added more changes. I don't see much more, though. The minimap and quest alert UI were changed. Everything else seems to still be in the old UI.

What I DO like, however, is that they changed the Cash Shop, Menu, Channel, etc. buttons to their original icons, but with the updated look. They also made the numbers on the HP, MP and EXP bars a LOT easier to read.

Before they were visible on top of the the hp, now they're only visible when not covered by hp.

But I guess yeah, doesn't matter anymore. Whoo.

Oh! They also changed these :

This one was also done a week ago, but I didn't post it. There was a bug on it, but it seems they fixed it. This is probably what the quest menu UI will look like.

The Family screen is very awkward looking. All that white stuff doesn't fit well with the Psuedo-Aero look of the frame.

Only gripe is with the level font/style. Otherwise this all looks pretty good. Makes you wonder if with this change, they will finally accommodate for skins in maple, or at least variation of color schemes.

That is some ugly s'hit. They better make use of that skin option I've seen while playing KMS and let you choose the old style.

If I were Nexon, I'll include the following:

Skins
- Traditional
- Traditional 2
- Aero Black (The one we're looking at :p)
- Ruby Red
- Azure Blue (I know they mean the same thing >.>)
- Emerald Green
- Crystalline Violet
- Classy Silver

Came up with the names myself. :p

Everything other than Traditional is the same...just of different colours. Traditional 2 would be the updated UI but with Traditional's colour scheme.

Of course, having so many of them be the same is a little boring...so maybe Nexon should also design some other new UIs while taking into consideration what players don't like about this design. They can then make them available to players so that players can choose what UIs they like. Better yet, Nexon can just make a UI Skin folder and release new UI Skins periodically for players to download and dump in the folder so they can select it in-game. Big Grin

(Yes, I stole that idea from the PSP.)

The color scheme is a bit strange, but overall it looks pretty nice. How can you even begin to think the current style is better than that? The current MS interface is a cluttered mess. The new UI keeps the layout similar to retain familiarity, but makes the menus look a lot cleaner and not look like it was made in 2003. What's the downside?

I would like a customizable interface, but I don't really expect that from Nexon.

That option was removed.
