Mechanic job, Edelstein and Leben Mine discussion
#1
Well, some of you may know the new mechanic job that isn't even out in KMST yet. This job mostly got revealed by Spadow on his blog.

Spadow Wrote:[Image: mechanic-background.png?w=151&h=172]

Basically, it's a new Resistance job that use a mount. The mount can transform in many things.

Another thing i'd like to point out is this:
Spadow Wrote:[Image: mark-edelstein.png?w=38&h=38]

Edelstein city (the first icon) will probably be the city for Resistance job. Leben Mine (the second one) is an unknown place. A new high leveled area maybe?

Anyway, this thread is about discussing these new features so... Discuss!

Im guessing Leben mine will be something like their training area and such.

[color="#cc8899"]Mount that cannot move...interesting. Looks like you'll have to choose between mobility and power.

Cannot move? Where did you get that from?
It clearly has legs in at least two of the pictures posted.

Also, I'm very excited about this new class. Always liked the steampunk-style.

Mobility and melee (attacks with arms) or stationary and ranged?

If the class has both melee and ranged attacks then that may mean that they would have a diferent SP distribution (equal dex and str anyone?)

For all you know, it could be INT and DEX. INT for knowledge in controlling the machine, DEX for nimbleness while pressing buttons. : P

This (first picture) is CLEARLY a stand attached to the weapon (indicating massive weight of the weapon, to the point it requires support). You don't move when you're shooting a mounted weapon. Also, anyone getting Frankenroid vibes?

Have a feeling the machine is going to drop onto the ground and then attack and there will be some kind of smalltime cooldowns?

This little comment made me come a little.

Due to the fact that this is a either a Resistance Pirate, or Explorer Gaiden Pirate means it will have str and dex.

from the mob data we already know the mines are a low lvl training area. It's hard to pin point if this is a resistance job even with spadow telling us so. It would be really cool if they gave them a new weapon like rayguns ^^

Which means, during a FEW of the skills this job has, the mount will be stationary. So what, ultimates are the same. Doesn't directly relate to "mount that cannot move", does it?

I'm pretty sure he meant the "mount that cannot move during those attacks", not that the mount itself cannot move at all.

This looks interesting, to be honest. I'm going to have to wait and see how they actually work in-game before I can say if I like them or not. I wonder if you keep the same robot/mount from 1-200 (Or 1-120, depending on the level cap.)

Working off the impression that the mount transforms into the various forms, the mount appears to be completely stationary while in certain forms. I can't imagine this thing transforming each and every time ___ skill is used (unless said skill has a long cooldown), rather it appears that the Mechanic would use ___ form for a duration of time. Don't patronize me.

I think it would be that way. Being stationary for a long time is only going to work at a few bosses, and even then, it'd be 50/50 convenience/inconvenience if they don't get a stance-like skill. Monsters can switch quite rapidly between different forms of attacks, seems reasonable to bring this over to characters.

I'm not patrionizing, I misinterpreted your first post because you were being unspecific (if what Mira said is true), and asked a question about it trying to find out what you meant. The comment I got in return felt rather harsh.

Definitely looks interesting, more interesting than other classes. Thing is, is this going to be an Explorer... or what?

Reminds me alot of the MT-09. Doesn't that monster attack stationary as well, while still maintaining it's mobility?

This is my view, based on the Spadows blog posts and Fiels extractions:

- When you create resistance character you will start as Citizen at a mine called "Leben Mine". This, because the skill similar to 3snails includes crystals instead of snail shells.

- Mechanic classes are: Wild Hunter, Battle Mage and Mechanic job

- Edelstein is a technologically advanced town, kinda like Magatia (I could expect it to be somewhere at Nihal Desert too, based on what the world map looks like). Unfortunately it is taken over by the Black Wings.

- Resistance Instructors are (from left to right) Henriette(Battle Mage), Belle(Wild Hunter), Checky(Mechanic), Sigmund (Resistance instructor)
[Image: battlemage-instructor2.png?w=62&h=80][Image: wildhunter-instructor2.png?w=47&h=77][Image: mechanic-instructor2.png?w=87&h=119][Image: resistance-instructor2.png?w=46&h=79]
looks like normal citizens? True, but they are actually a secret group. They are the Resistance:
[Image: battlemage-instructor1.png?w=58&h=86][Image: wildhunter-instructor1.png?w=51&h=75][Image: mechanic-instructor1.png?w=54&h=83][Image: resistance-instructor1.png?w=56&h=90]

Hard to say yet, but from what Spadow collected up, it REALLY seems like Mechanic is a resistance.

Well, it could either be a Legend Pirate, Resistance Pirate or Explorer Gaiden Pirate. While most would think it would be a Resistance Pirate because of Battle Mage and Wild Hunter I doubt it a little because of the fact that they didn't release it at the same time.

Who knows, it could be a Black Wings Pirate.
