Hey guys, here's my new video, Night Lord Supremacy. Took me quite a while to finally settle on the results of this one. I dropped about 3 months collectively and about 40 hours of solid work on this. I hope I managed to outdo myself here, I'm very pleased with the result.
Hey Josh, nicely done. The variety was nice, and though I dont know much about NL control, that seemed like pretty good use of flash jump and whatnot to me, especially at the grims portion. The music was refreshing too.
Editing was done well, but the music got pretty boring after 7 minutes. Other than the scene with the "Hit" and "Miss" with that ToT Boss, I thought the video was pretty repetitive. TT this. Avenger that. FJ over mob. Repeat. Everything died in under three hits: even some of the bosses. :/

It's MapleStory, it's a showcase video, and he's playing a NL. It's all in the presentation. I thought it was entertaining. The editing was good and his control was above average.
You're never going to see anything particularly exciting in these types of videos.
But 7 minutes of it...? I don't want to come off as some negative hater, the video was good. I just think it could have been shorter or had more scenes like the ToT Whale Boss.
No one said you had to sit through it all. I basically go into these videos with the assumption that about 10% of it is actually worth watching, and then skip past the repetitive aparts. For example, the Dodo section, or trying to see how little damage he can take.

My various other videos might better suit your liking. Generally I try to add a theme other than completely destroying the monsters in my way.
Nobody had a problem, except the lenght. And while I agree with that, it's still a nice video. I'd make more "Hit/miss" and the likes for future videos, though, it's the part I enjoyed the most. But with something else, like getting seduced somewhere, and then switching fast somewhere else. People would simply be waiting for more random moments, and gives some variety.
Never did a video myself, but I sure watched some... Just what I feel it can work.

I love the beginning. Its a very calming and relaxed set of scenes where you're still showing off your damage but you aren't being ZOMG HARDCORE about it. Its great, and your timing is fantastic. Especially when you go to fight the neo city boss :>
The timing you had for Maple Warrior 30 is awesome. And they both passed!! Tell me, how many tries did that take? You win over 9000 internets if it only took one.
Hhaaha, nice dodge skills thar with Dodo. <3 Sparkle eyes btw
I'm liking how you split this into sections, relaxed sections at that. You move through the transitions easily and don't confused people with what's going on. Do you listen to this sort of music when you train? Cause I gotta tell you, its pretty damn cool <3
Hawt crit ring catch there. <3
Oh great reverse there, it was PERFECT with the music. I really liked that, I haven't seen that before in MMVs.
lol@ onyx apple tick tock rape.
Once again I gotta say I do love your music, its so different and relaxed. Great editing and timing, I really liked your video. (: I think my favorite part is that you kept each section interesting. It wasn't just OMG GRIND HERE GRIND THAR. You did something different in each one, and it shows that you care about what the people are seeing. Rather than be like, "OMG LOOK HOW STRONG I AM. /gloat gloat gloat" This is a fantastic video, and the mood is just perfect. Wonderful job [/COLOR]

=D Your response is perfect proof that the way I built the video was not in vain. And yeah, that was actually the first MW30 for me... I believe it was for Rarely as well, but I'm not absolutely sure.
I'm glad you noticed that it wasn't all about my damage, I never try to focus only on that but it becomes obviously important to a certain degree( the 55k apple scene).
I believe the reason why my timing works so well with my videos is that I analyze the music on a second-by-second detail when I believe perfect editing is necessary so that I can hit every single beat appropriately.
Thanks you all for your comments! Support and constructive criticism are both always welcome.

Thanks for noticing the pacing. Too many people fail to realize the obvious differences in the scenes even now and still make the video to be all about damage - which it isn't. Of course I couldn't go through the whole time without accenting damage in certain key points, but that wasn't my mission and I'm glad you noticed that.
And yeah, that was my first MW30. I believe it was also Rarely's as well but I'm not 100% sure.
I believe the reason why my timings work so well is that I analyze the song at the wavelength graph level and edit accordingly to suit the beats and flow of the song. It takes much longer to get things perfect instead of just slamming a bunch of clips together with one song, but it definitely pays off in the end and I'm extremely happy with the result.
As far as the music goes, I listen to stuff like this all the time, not just while training. If you've seen my other videos you'll notice how much more laid back this was, and I felt that the change of pace was necessary for my motivation to keep working on the video.
