Inferno limit breaker
#1
Damage is showing up as if the monster is recovering.. the damage always appears to be "23694" and appears in blue whilst in reality, the burn damage on this particular mob in which has 9 million HP is actually doing 225'000 damage which is above the damage limit. As we all know, the damage cap is 199k, and the only other way to go above that number is if you had a really well funded Marksman and several mobs, but you run the chance to dc after wards.

My inferno is level 30 by the way, it drains a mob's hp by 2.5% per second supposedly and since Imperial guards have the highest non-boss hp in GMS, I thought I'd take a crack at it. Tongue

Well the Number which is shown must be wrong. I kill now a Guard in 30 sec b4 it was way over 1 min, so inferno must deal way more dmg than shown.

It happens with any skill like this such as venom and mist. Once the damage/sec reaches a certain point [I think 32k~], it shows it as it's healing itself, when it really isn't. Been here ever since 4th job came out.

Yeah, is normal for DoT skills. Ice Demon does it too, only way I can clear the 9m HP mobs remotely efficiently for LOLdunas solos :[.

This also happened when I poisoned the giant frog and cat during Halloween on my F/P wizard (before they became bosses).

That's an awesome find bro Biggrin

another way to bypass the damage cap is with Tempest on an imp. guard though...

Tempest it, and while its frozen, all attacks turn into the monsters hp... i took a NL friend, froze everything with tempest, and visually, his TT with shadow partner hit 56580000 (9.43m x 6)

Healing HP is considered negative damage. The display for DoT damage is a short int, which means it can only carry values of -32768 to 32767. If you roll over 32767 damage, you'll start going back into the negatives - that's why you see blue numbers. The actual damage is still what it is, but you see a random blue or orange number between 0 and 32768.

I'm scared to ask this... But what happens if you you go over 65536? Black hole? Total crash? Servers burn down?
