So, after listening to lots of music today, I realized how much I just love instrumentals.

Especially this one:

I like how it is heavy, yet at the same time it has very beautiful parts. I love when the guitar starts at ~:57. Does anyone know of more songs like this? I've played this song over and over today, I love it so much!

To me, the guitar and piano are f'ucking BEAUTIFUL.

unfortunately the only instrumental that i can think of ATM that i think is just good overall is Call of Ktulu, but thats both my bias and lack of knowledge.

This was pretty good as well.

EDIT::
got the S&M version instead. more moving IMO.

I liked this until the singer came in. :/

@Tobias, right now I'm listening to a version I found on Youtube. It's pretty good, though some parts seem to have a little too much going on.

Also, I really like this one:

I can't find any pure instrumentals in the genre you have posted, but I know of many other very beautiful instrumentals from softer genres. One of my more favorite instrumental artists (whom is very, very popular) is Nujabes.

This one is very repetitive, but extremely relaxing. One of my favorites :

I'll give that a listen after this one, this one's another one of my favorites:

Kinda short for my liking though D:

EDIT: K, I really wasn't that big of that song. It was a bit too soft. I love the piano, and all, just...I don't know. It just didn't click. I didn't finish it, but I listened a good minute into it, then started to click farther into the song.

Additionally, another As I Lay Dying one that I really like:

theres a lot going on yeah, ill agree, but how i listen to it i picture the cthulhu mythos of the thing rising out of the sea, and causing a wanton rampage of destruction, and ending with the utter decay and collapse of civilization. iuno, im artsy and poetic like that. =/

Fairly sure old school In Flames did stuff like 0:57 - 1:53 a lot. Might want to check them out.

Case in point (it's pretty bluesy):

I'll listen to that song in a second. I really, really like this one. The guitars sound simple, yet complicated at the same time. Awesome!

EDIT: Dialouge with the Stars is really awesome.

"Simple, yet complicated."

I've heard that before. It reminds me of Opeth every time. Why didn't I think of that before? d'oh.

I love this song my Aphex Twin. It's so mellow. I listened to it on repeat for about a day when I first heard it.

I was trying to find a song in my library that's similar to that, but the only one I found that I enjoyed that was anything remotely similar was:

:/

It's really more metal and rock than it is anything else, and of course, without any vocals.

I don't know of any metal instrumentals too similar to that (depends on what you consider similar), but these bands are worth checking out:
