10x drop kms
#1
i've read in several posts that kms now has 10x drop rates. when was this implemented and is it in the form of a new passive update or is it by use of card/buff/event?

i feel like if it's passive there's a good chance gms will get it against nexonam's will because they have no idea what they're doing. for example, look at the singapore drop rates. they implemented msea's crazy rates without even thinking about. and when we got the monster book update, all drop rates of monsters that dropped cards were increased a little.

so yeah, interested in learning more about this.

It's just a passive update. Far as i know it only apples to equipment, not cards or anything.

Its for equipment, so that you can use the Item abilities more since the maker or buyed equips cant have potential.

They can if you use the purple scrolls on them.

Chaos scrolls were 3m before the drop update anyway.

I assume they just edited the equipment drop rates, instead of applying a passive 10x drop to all items. That would make Maple like other games, where equips drop commonly, but most of them are worthless.

I smell inflation if that comes around to GMS. NPCing garbage equips will put a loooooot of mesos into the economy...

10x drop rate, NPC value 1/10 what it was, is what KMS did.

Ah, okay, that makes much more sense. Might still screw around with some things for a while. Just have to wait and see.

Well, it'll make the 91~100 monster crystals a lot easier to get :\ The level 100 equips are dropped by way more stuff people train on. My last few characters never even trained on level 9x mobs with etc. drops, since NLC and Malaysia cover those levels fairly thoroughly.

I believe it will still put more mesos out in the game, Selling a few equips at reduced prices > Selling none.

Not really. I know I wouldn't pick up equips if they were only worth 20k. Inventory space is a precious commodity.

The point is that if the item has a good potential then you can sell it in the FM for more.

Which is extremely rare.
My Equip slot usually fills up in less than 20 minutes, and I find 0 ~ 1 that are actually worth something.
I think the only useful one I found was a shoe with +8 STR potential.

It's equipment, trust me.
Wristgaurds have been popping up in FM lately, and becoming more common.
There used to rarely even be 1 in the FM until now.

If this affected monster cards I would be sooooo pissed. Thank god it doesn't cause I could see GMS doing this. =x

This sounds great! It makes the game way more fun imo, finding random equips Big Grin Makes things a bit more varied.

You forgot to mention the 1/10th NPCing value. Unless that wasn't added yet.
