About the new Explorer/Adventurer rings for those wondering.
#1
Alright, so this info is already all over the forum, but I thought I would post this one thread so people don't have to search through pages and pages of info.

First things first, unless GMS changes things the way to get these rings is to either.

A. Create a new Adventurer/Explorer job (KoC, Aran and Evan will not work) and level it to 50 where you get your choice of the three rings.

Or.

B. Level a pre-existing character that is either level 50 or above 30 levels to get your choice of the three rings.

The stats of the three rings are as followed.

Adventurer’s Cruel Ring
REQ LV: 30
Weapon Attack: +3
Magic Attack: +1
HP: +180
MP: +100
Has a 1% chance to instant kill 1 enemy
5% chance of dealing Critical Damage (20% Damage)

Adventurer’s Critical Ring
REQ LV: 30
Weapon Attack: +2
Magic Attack: +1
HP: +180
MP: +100
Has a 1% chance to instant kill 1 enemy
10% chance of dealing Critical Damage (10% Damage)

Adventurer’s Magical Ring
REQ LV: 30
Weapon Attack: +1
Magic Attack: +5
HP: +100
MP: +180
Has a 8% chance to stun an enemy for 6 seconds
5% chance of dealing Critical Damage (20% Damage)

And for those wondering once you get these rings you can put it into storage, however once you take it out on another character it will be untradable forever, you will not be able to even use SoK or PSoK on it. But once again this is unless GMS changes something about the rings.

I'm not up to date on these rings but I'm assuming the critical ring ends up being better than the cruel ring? Or is it the other way around?

Critical ring is indeed the best for classes with passive criticals and most classes with SE or Thorns accounted for.

0.1 x 1.1 + 0.9 = 1.01
0.05 x 1.2 + 0.95 = 1.01

It's the exact same thing. Only difference is 1% 1hko vs 8% stun. Go for the stun. 1% 1hko is useless.

That would only apply to mages, though. *points at weapon attack*

And if you're a mage, just use the best Lilin's Ring. 6 Magic right there.

6 magic attack is incomparable to 101% damage boost. As magic attack exceeds 881, 6 matk gradually decreases from 101% and approaches 100%.

Besides, the 8% stun is good enough to override the magic attack shortcomings of the Adv Magic Ring.

Depends on the skill total.

10% chance of 10% crit, or 5% chance of 20% crit, are both basically adding 1% to your skill.

You have to compare that to the 3 primary stat + 3 secondary stat Lilin's ring adds.

Like for example, on my Paladin, I have a 350% skill, so +1% to it makes it 351% (0.29% increase). I have 808 str, so +3 to it makes it 811. (0.37% increase). Lilin's ring is a bigger boost.

On the other hand, on my DK, I have a 170% skill, so +1% makes it 171% (0.59% increase). I have 648 str, so +3 makes it 651. (0.46% increase). Thus the Critical ring is better.

In either case it's really not enough of a boost to justify starting a new adventurer for.

Then again, on my NL, I have a 140% skill, with 50% chance of 100% crit. The Critical Ring makes that 60% chance of 110% crit (8.4% increase). Which is a fairly hefty improvement... the Lilin's ring is still around 0.4% obviously.

Hopefully GMS will make them account shareable.

That is what I am really hoping for at this moment since they did it with Dragon Glasses, but if they don't at least I don't have to waste time getting a character to 50.

B is false. If I remember correctly, you only got the Cruel Ring, not a choice.

Waiting to be proven wrong.

well, it says get to 50 and "choose" one of 3 rings, on the returning adventurer page

You ONLY get a Cruel Ring if you level up a level 50 or higher character 30 times or if you're level 200. Those who make a brand new character and level it from 1 to 50 within the duration of the event will receive a choice of three rings; Adventurer's Cruel Ring, Adventurer's Critical Ring and Adventurer's Magical Ring.

Nexon America hasnt said anything about that in any notice. They have only said that if you start a new character you get the choice of ring at lv 50.

It looks like Nexon wants everyone to buy a character slot to make a new character...

Actually they didn't say anything about a new character, either. So it could be that any Adventurer (Explorer?), that is already 50 or over, can get a ring right away.
That's not as absurd as it sounds. Since adventurers share Cash Shop storage, the benefit to Nexon from making people with an existing Adventurer create a new one, is not big.

Or it could be that the level-up-30-times path exists, but they forgot to put it in, or will post it in a separate annoucement.

However, let's wait until the patch is up before making this sort of thread. Nexon America can still change a lot about these rings - including their stats and tradability - and repeating the KMS info in a multitude of threads will just confuse GMSers later on.

Uhh, I don't know about you but I'm pretty confident that anyone who has enough brain to read on SP won't be confused. We have been receiving information from kMS since forever and a half (Maker anyone?), this isn't anything new.
