I like the designs of most Pokemon in every generation. I just find a lot of people look so subjectively at the new Pokemon and point out dumb crap while saying "It'll never be like gen I" or "Everything after Gen II was crap."

If we reversed the order, people would still complain about the new Pokemon without giving them a chance at all.

That's not to say Gen I doesn't hold a special as the original, but I don't have nostalgia goggles that prevent me from acknowledging that Gen I wasn't exactly a shining example of creativity or anything like that. Every generation brings something new to the table. If the games weren't changing, and were pretty much the same thing with altered graphics and story lines, it'd get boring after a while. Every game franchise adds something new along the lines in their sequels to spice things up. Pokemon is no exception. Without the additions, it would get old fast. Whether you like change or not, it has to happen for the series to go on.

Sometimes a series does overstay its welcome, right, but I personally feel Pokemon has yet to reach this point. The new Pokemon are fine. The old Pokemon are fine. Stop letting nostalgia blind you with the illusion that one generation is better than the other simply because you're more used to it and have fond childhood memories associated with it.

Let's just wait for everything to be finalized and enjoy the game.

no it was with a mix-up of all the gens (saying gen3 was gen1).

Gen 1: I couldn't stand Mr.Mime, porygon or voltorb/electrode

Gen 2: I saw Porygon 2, and hated that and wanted Porygon back. I thought Magby and Iglybuff were pomegranate heads too.

Gen3: I didn't play Gen 3, but I do remember thinking how much I hated what I assumed were Butterfree rip offs. But on the other hand I LOVED Aron, Aggron, etc. when my cousin lent me his game for a few hours.

Gen4: Cresselia, Rhyperior and Mime Jr. Rest are pretty hot.

So Yeah, I enjoy new pogeys, I'm not a fan of evos for old Pokemon, cause often they don;t look as great (Obvious exception is scizor). And baby pokes often suck,but I'll grow to love em.

Gen 1 had stupid Pokemon with stupid designs. Gen 5 has stupid Pokemon with stupid designs.

I guess they truly did go back to their roots.

I used to think Gen 3 was really digging to the bottom of the barrel for logical designs but now that I'm actually playing Emerald for the first time, I rather like quite a few of them. I'm not letting my Torchic evolve because it's adorable.
