Regarding KMS scrolls and seeking advice

Those new scrolls in KMS, can anyone describe to me what they actually do, how rare they are to get, etc? The whole thing sounds terribly confusing to me, but from what I understand, these scrolls are EXTREMELY POTENT.

Now, my main question is, is it worth it for me to continue trying to make perfect item? Or will these scrolls pretty much destroy the need to do such a thing anymore?

Even under the new system a "perfect" weapon is decent, mostly cause the scrolls add 5 w.atk each.

Perfect scrolling anything else (or even owning valuable items) is pretty much a waste of money, cause the new scrolls add majority of stats far better.

The main items I'd buy in preparation are ones where the scrolls are only commonly available in cursed form. Dex/luk earrings, str tops, shields, str overalls come to mind. With the new system, you're better off with a bunch of averagely-scrolled items than one really nice one and a bunch that broke, cause there's no way to avoid breaking stuff if you want nice stats, so you'll want quantity over quality.

Well, they aren't exactly the newest thing. They've been out for a while in KMS and KMSt.

I'm worried that if I continue scrolling the BB, it will be a waste of money considering that average scrolled items with a few lucky "potential scrolls" can be really godly (And depending on the availibility of potential scrolls, much cheaper to boot.)

Right, but KMST isn't exactly a good measure for rarity. Aren't these scrolls in KMS?

Unless they've changed it, Potential Scrolls don't use slots.

They're quite rare, but common enough that they'll destroy the game more than Nexon already had before them.

In the end, unless you're trying to be the #1 strongest player in the game, the stats of your weapon don't matter. If you want to finish off your Black Beauty with 50%s, by all means, go ahead. Even with the item ranking system, I don't think many people are going to be able to beat +8 50% scrolls on a weapon that was very nice to begin with. All that matters is that you have a set of gear that'll let you train efficiently enough to get where you want to be or kill bosses as efficiently as you want to. My bet is that the item ranking system won't take full effect (as in being the #1 way of making the best items in the game) until long after you'll have to worry about it anyway.

White scrolls are expensive, and I want to know before I dump billions into this project that the KMS potential scrolls won't be able to get similar results for much cheaper.

If anything, the prices of scrolls will go up because of people scrolling more equips. The potential scrolls require all slots to be used up before they can be used and since they have boom rates, there's going to be more people scrolling equips to make "epic" items. It's really hard to tell with the MapleStory economy, really.

Yeah, that's a prime example of why the quality of your existing gear hardly matters.

This pretty much sets the bar higher for the best possible to an unreachable height (pretty much how perfectly scrolled items with 10% scrolls were before 30%, 50% scrolls and WS existed).

It also creates a much higher demand for good clean items while devaluing how they were scrolled.

Actually, I don't mind about these scrolls... Makes all other scrolls average priced, and better gear for everyone. In fact, interesting gear now. Welp, I think we'll have to see where this goes!

You might as well 100% the rest of the slots, if you land a +4% damage on the weapon
and some good +%'s for DEX on other gear you should be golden.
