Which NPC, the one about the beginning of our adventure, do Evans have to talk to to complete this quest? I've already checked Grendal and the Utah farm NPCs to no avail.

This whole quest really has nothing to do with Grendel, though. Evan is basically trying to remember(in the quest) a significant person that encouraged him/her to continue fighting for good. Chief Stan does make sense, as he encouraged Evan to continue training.
