Let's say you take 6000 damage (using same values again ._.) per hit, are in a 6-person party and have maxed Blue Aura.
If only one person (P1) is hit by the attack:
P1 - Takes 4200 damage.
Other party members - Take 360 damage each when P1 gets hit.
If everyone is hit by the attack:
All - Take 4200 damage, plus 360 damage from everyone else. Total damage taken per player = 4560.
As for Advanced Blue Aura,
If only one person is hit by the attack:
P1 - Takes 3000 damage.
Other party members - Take 360 damage each when P1 gets hit.
If everyone is hit by the attack:
All - Take 3000 damage, plus 360 damage from everyone else. Total damage taken per player = 3360.
I stated 2 possible cases in one of my previous posts, however when I thought about it I realised that if the % damage transferred was based on the guarded value, the damage transferred by Advanced Blue Aura would be greater than for Blue Aura...
Anyhow, this also means that it will not work if you're not in a party. This means that Battlemages are "party animals" (lol), and much likelier to die when not in a party. Battlemages have lots of skills that help a party, so whatever.
I don't know about party theories, but i don't think it'll work that way. Blue aura has damage distributed while adv blue aura has damage absorbed...which implies that blue aura reduces damage by splitting it up per person while advanced just absorbs the damage and you don't take any of it. o.o

A few questions about the summon. It looks like you used the skill a few times but nothing showed up. Is the % chance in the skill data for the chance of it showing up? If it doesn't show up what does it do while its 'on'. Also, when the summon is there, does it walk around on its own or does it generally stay close to you?

Why do no battle mages use Finish Attack from first job? I want to know how that works. Once I know that, I'll dedicate a whole new topic to triple/quad/death blow.

It's not really that interesting. The skill says something about the damage being relative to something else, but it's really just a weak 1st job skill that you use at the end of triple blow that does a static amount of damage no matter what. Imagine energy bolt for the mage class except it mobs and has really really small range. It's kind of tricky to cast at first and gets replaced by dark lightning dispite the 10 second cooldown too. If you want me to use it in my next video (probably tomorrow), i guess i will, but there isn't anything amazing about it that i can see.

It's not a really weak skill later on. Looking at the data, it would seem that as you get more and more hits to use with Quad Blow and as you upgrade the finisher in 4th job, the damage increases. Data shows 300 basic attack for the final form of Finish Attack. Try using final attack after your first hit and after your final hit of the combo. I think that's where the difference is.

Yeah i just tried it and you're right. The animation changed since i got death blow. I haven't tried to damage things with it, but i hope it's damage is actually good now. >_> In 2nd job it was hitting 100s, which didn't really make it worth using after the 4th hit since it hits way higher...

Good to know. I'll start writing about the deeper mechanics of the Resistance jobs (Super Body, Swallow, Triple/Quad/Death, Aura, etc.)

Looking forward to it. Especially super body. I have no idea how it works yet...

Yeah, I'm 100% sure of how the Blow skills work. Super Body and Swallow will be guesses until I watch more videos.

Fiel, can you do me a favor and post the damage per hits for death and finish blow? Death blow looks very confusing damage wise (the 4th and 5th hits hit at almost the exact same time so it's hard to tell what's going on).
How's the carpal tunnel factor? Bad as Arans?

I've always been impervious to that aspect of these classes. xD This is noticibly more tiring though...would you rather tap the attack skill constantly or tap it 4/5/6 times, wait for it to finish, and then do it again?

To use it, you have to hold it (like Final Cut). Once the bar fills up, you let go and the monster is put in the Jaguar's mouth (at this point, you get experience for killing the monster). If you press the button again, it shoots the monster in the form of a little projectile forward about... 300px? And I'm pretty sure it does damage equal to the % it says in the skill. The interesting part is when you *don't* spit the monster out. After about 10 seconds the monster actually gets swallowed, and you get a little buff in the top right of your screen. I've only seen two buffs so far. One of them is Max MP +1%, the other is unknown (the icon has a shield with two arrows pointing down). I'll make and upload a video about it later.
Moonlapse Wrote:How's the carpal tunnel factor? Bad as Arans? Eh, I didn't play it for long, but I find them to be much more annoying than Aran. If you want to do Finish Attack properly, you'll have to pay attention to exactly how many times you press the button all the time. I don't know how much of an issue that is for some, but I'm kind of a button masher, so counting 5 presses takes a lot of concentration from me. You can't just rely on what you see because by the time you see it, it's too late to press it.
As for Finish Attack, Fiel:
It seems that the big gear only comes out when you press it exactly 5 times. If you press it more, the tiny gear comes out. If you press it less, no gear comes out. It's really bothersome. Excuse my awful control, I was mostly concentrating on counting my hits and doing the big gear thing.

2. Set macros for number of hits you want to perform
3. ???

4. Profit I'm well aware of controllers and their ability to kick ass. Lachrymus tried to convince me that they're awesome and that I can do things with them that are impossible with a keyboard. Maybe I'm lazy or just stubborn, but I really don't want to let go of my keyboard. And if I can't do that combo 99% of the time with a keyboard while also not breaking my fingers, then I don't mind not playing them. I like ranged classes better anyway.

Jesus christ that experience you're getting is terrific. Are you on any exp modifiers? Is it possible to get that kind of exp in GMS at the same map?
Edit; Also SITH LIGHTNING!
(I love sith lightning)

I know it's tespia, sir....What I'am unaware of, is the experience rates on tespia, or if you are on a experience modifier of some kind =[ Judging by your response I guess tespia receives increased rates for normal exp? Would you please explain?
