Newb question: So if I kill him, finish the quest, and get the cape can I still do it again? Or should I kill him/forfeit/get the piece again/kill him. Wait that wouldn't work anyway.. argh. So I guess what I'm asking is how killing pap is repeated after you finish the quest.

You can kill Papulatus at any point in time, no matter if you complete the quest or not. As long as you can get a Piece of Crack (from either the daily quest or by buying them in the Free Market), you can go in the Origin of the ClockTower and fight Papulatus to your heart's content.

Oh okay. So the annoying kill a bunch or grim witches and get part A and B then spend 45 minutes hunting for part C and then get desperate and use a 2x drop buff to find it part is a daily quest..? Wewt..? f3

No. The daily quest is just talking to the one magic guy at Path of Time. If you don't have any Piece of Cracks in your inventory, he'll give you one on a daily basis.

Just wondering, is this every maple clock day. e.g. at 12 am PST you can kill pap again or is it 24 hours from your last run?

I don't understand why you asked that since I made it pretty clear on my post it was every 24 hours...
