Day 3 of Open Beta ends in 3 minutes. lol Tomorrow is the final day of beta, I believe. Then we'll have to wait a while for the official game. I hope I can make it to 15 by the end of tomorrow's beta run.

It isn't regional settings that is making those errors pop up when you press the play button; I know that, for sure. The other thing, is it could very well be that the activex plugin you had to install didn't install correctly.. if only I knew how to uninstall it so I could re-install it.

And yeah, fail, no one can download that folder because no one has a premium account.

Also, this isn't open beta, this is EXCBT. They just allowed everyone to play in the limited hours for the last thing. Now we need to wait for the real open beta, which'll probably have no restraints on what hours you can play. After that, THEN it is the real game. lol.

I wasn't really trying to be mean or anything, I was just saying it didn't work. An alternative thing is you could split the .rar up into parts and upload it, I believe that could work.

eh... closed beta only run between 15:00 and 22:00 in japanese time each day.

Took me 2 whole hour to figure out what the hell is going on.
Unfortunately, the result is "we are unable to play unless we have a japanese operating system"


When you click gamestart, it will check the browser version(needs to be IE6.0 or above) and language of your browser(needs to be japanese).

Unfortunately, according to specifications, IE returns your OS language when asked for language of browser.

You realize these people are probably basing it off what justin has been sputtering out? It is possible to play with an American OS, as justin has done it. We just need to find a way to get the game folder, and then we can launch it from the thing similar to gamelauncher.exe in the maplestory folder; without going to the actual website to launch it.

as you see I change all everything to Japan(Unicode/Location/Formats/Date&Time)
but everything still not showing in Japan language like ShiKage did(the menu bar/etc.)
and I'm think to launch from .exe may won't work 'cos alot of Han game can't open from that . . it'll said need to start from the site anyway. OTL

but it not hurt to try anyway since we go this far and we want to play it

Well, my friend reformatted his comp today to 7. So we'll see how it goes. It seems the problem does lie in the fact if HanGames detects if you're using a Japanese OS or not. I'll keep you guys posted. Also, I previously tried proxies, and they either disable java or login process fails, so I do recommend using PacketiX. Not too hard to setup.


error404, i never tried to launch outside the site, just because it doesn't seem possible ><" for me anyway. and i have never seen that error.

Erich, does your entire comp change to Japanese text? Like, Recycle Bin, My Computer, the right column of the Start Menu...etc? Cause it seems like that's the problem (as has been aforementioned multiple times - sorry about the repitition).

Yes, everything is identical to justin's. When OBT is out i'll try again; we only have a few more days of EXCBT, and I can't stay up due to school. We'll see.

I didn't restart my computer, so that could be part of why it didn't work. Not everything turned to japanese when I changed that english (United States) to Japanese on the Formats tab.

I don't know if it the same thing or not but I just check system info from IE and it show my language is in Eng


I wonder will it work for XP if change interface into JP?
but I don't know how to do it lol OTL (I use XP professional SP3 but don't see any option to change interface language)

Hey guys I really want to play this game, After reading all your posts it seems the beta is ending very soon so perhaps it's not worth a try, since I just started researching today, and so I am looking at the Chinese route for a little bit, since I DO understand Chinese fluently, and some japanese, Although I would Really loved to learn japanese, it seems in here they're giving about 10k of account activation number for a competition in here: http://dn.sdo.com/web5/news/newsContent....goryID=103 and it links to here http://act.dn.sdo.com/100422walzg/index.asp what it said is that you have to make an image that expressed your love for Dragon nest, it is graded primarily on creativity and originality. the competition starts 4-27 to 6-1 so we have about 20 days. let me know if anyone is interested, if there are people interested maybe we can try to crack this nut

edit: and by the way, according to the first post, so they do grade each piece of work with different scale, and they would give out between 1- 12 codes for each work depends on quality o.o

there's some news about start button problem

Currently, The launcher doesn't start when pressing the start button

For XP user hack shield error will popup when click start

Other possible causes is adobe flash player
using last version of adobe flash player may solve this problem



but I think it's not same as our error
it must be click on start but nothing run or some kind of hack shield error popup instead

Hopefully this problem will be gone by open beta, I have tried and failed using XP and Vista Home Basic. I have also downloaded the client using Joe Tang's link but it still doesn't work.

@ Phantasm, do you have any skill recommendations? I've just been getting random skills on my level 7 archer.

Make a hanpurple folder, stick the contents of hanpurple.rar in there. There's a Dnest folder, stick the Dnest folder in the hanpurple folder extract the resource00 and resource001 into the Dnest folder. GL HF
