Welcome Back Ring doesn't work?

The ring isn't working for me, I put a ring mule in my party that had the welcome back ring, and received no bonus in experience. Party or Regular.

And I wont. As I stated earlier, the char must actually be wearing a welcome back ring to get 80% bonus. The party thing comes to play because u need a member on the same map for your ring to work. Ring mules aint gonna work if they do not fix it (or if it is intended).
