Currently grinding on and reading Koko Ni Iru Yo!, one of Tooyama Ema's works. This is a series before he or she made Watashi ni XX Shinasai!, apparently. It's finished as well. FUCKYAAAARRRR! I'll probably be reading this all weekend.
Quote:Koko ni Iru yo! (ココにいるよ!?, lit.I'm Here!) is a Japaneseshōjomanga series by Ema Tōyama. The series was serialized in the shōjomanga magazine, Nakayoshi. The series ended with 5 volumes released by Kodansha under the imprint, Kodansha Comics.
It was announced in the New York Anime Festival 2009 that the series will be licensed in English by Del Rey Manga and the release for the first volume will be around Fall 2010. They titled it "Here I Am!"
Art-style is the same. The girl reminded me of Yukina, but how she acts and dresses = completely different. Do like.
Plot:
Quote:The series centers around a girl named Hikage who describes herself as "plain". She is a very shy and insecure child. Because of her unassertive attitude and unappreciated beauty, she finds herself constantly ignored by her classmates and has a difficult time making friends at school.
In the first chapter of the manga, Hikage begins middle school, vowing to overcome her loneliness and find companionship. Then Hinata starts to notice her in the first volume. She is supported in her ambitions by two online friends, Black Rabbit and MegaPIG, who read her blog about the sunflower shes been nurturing. A romantic and sad plot soon develops involving Hikage and the two most popular boys in her class, Hinata and Teru, who have more to them than meets the eye.
A few bumps occur along the way as Hikage grows closer to Hinata, such as bullying and gossip. When she later sticks up for herself she gains recognition and friendliness from the class, but most importantly she obtains self-confidence in herself.
Franken Fran Extra: This chapter made me think of the Avatar: the Last Airbender episode, "Ember Island Players"- when I saw buff, nasculine Veronica with manly features, the connection drew to buff Toph right away. Also, chuckled at the bestiality.
Hayate the Combat Butler 269: What? Did the yakuza guy and Hayate make a mistake at the end when he bumps into Klaus or was Klaus supposed to be the one he had to run into?
Naruto 492: I like the expression and gestures Naruto makes when he raps.
Man, new Bleach isn't up on anywhere I can find yet, but from what I've seen on /a/, Kubo is going to reach new heights of a certain thing we all know and love him for.
Quote:Franken Fran 25-27: Alright, I'm always afraid of the series falling to the back of my mind when it doesn't get steady, regular updates- so I left a few chapters to read here and there. Just started catching up since tons of Franken Fran has been coming out lately. The Flying Spaghetti Monster joke really had me in stitches. The story about the dog's brain being put into the body of that fat man in his underwear was pretty funny and kinda made me baw at the same time.
Quote:Also, from what I've heard- Detroit Metal City's manga is to end serialization this Friday. Haven't yet checked out the manga, but will do sometime since I loved the anime and that the manga's now ending soon- with a lot more content than the short anime had when that ended.
The series isn't that long, so it's not as if the anime missed too much. Though, I would love to see them animate the rest of it though as a season 2.
Mysterious Girlfriend X
Would be good if I didn't actually stop, think, and get disgusted by the concept of licking somebody else's drool.
Little House with an Orange Roof
Pretty nice twist on the romance genre. Romance doesn't have to be high school, and Seinen doesn't have to be college!
Pretty Face (old)
Started out well, ended well. Everything in between was a mess. The first half was decent, but the second half was screaming "I'M RUNNING OUT OF IDEAS SO I BETTER JUST END IT FAST."
Sexy Commando (very old)
Bo-bobo's ancestor, only less random and more stupid.
Lucifer and the Biscuit Hammer
Non-mainstream shounen at its finest. Actually, I haven't seen any non-mainstream shounen before so I'm not exactly sure what non-mainstream shounen is... but I know that this definitely is non-mainstream shounen.
Sket Dance
FUCK YEARRRRRR!!!11one
Best comedy manga out there, even better than Gintama.

Responding to Mirai Nikki spoilers:
Spoiler
Judging by the context given in the latest chapter, the theory about her existing in an alternate universe and going to this one is likely. Another that I should have thought of, that seemed incredibly likely would be:
There being 2 Yunos in this universe. How? Twins with the same name. Prove me wrong that there's no such thing as a twin with the same first and last name. Both of my friends that I know right now are twins, with the same FIRST AND LAST name. Which is why the use their middle name as their nickname. Michael ____ <last name>. One is called Alex, the other is Demitrius. They even look extremely alike but act slightly different, though can act the same at times. Given that the picture with the cellphone in this latest chapter, it clearly says "IN THIS WORLD THERE" and the rest is whitened out. The only words that can fit the sentence would be '2 Yunos'. One likely possibility is the speculation that it's an alternate Yuno from xyz universe, but my theory is that there are two existing Yunos that are twins. I could be wrong, but I like to think differently.
I've already seen that Watashi ni XX Shinasai extra, btw. This was a while ago too, before they hosted it on OneManga. On MangaFox, it was uploaded on March 6th 2010. No wonder, I've seen it before. I was hoping it was a continuation of the previous chapter. Fuck. Yukina is love. ♥

Alright, let's think about this theory, shall we?
If there are twin Yunos, so to speak, with the one running around being twin A and the corpse being twin B, then why does the diary still work? A diary will cease to operate when its owner is dead- and they also address this recently with the eighth dying and all of her proxy diaries losing ability to function. It just wouldn't be possible, unless they were meant as "twin diaries" similar to how the Couple Diary that the 7th had works: though it was a tad fuzzy on how that worked. We were never certain on the idea of if one dies, then would the other partner diary work? Mostly because there's leeway to interpret if Ai was pretty much as good as dead or was dead when she got to Marco.
Regardless, the real nail in the coffin is that if you revisit the scene in Mirai Nikki: Paradox when Akise Aru goes into the memory bank of Mecha-Murumuru, when Murumuru gives Yuno the diary, we see the other Yuno body already dead. There's no way that the body lying on the floor could have possibly been a diary holder given that she didn't even live to the start of the survival game.
You might just be reading too much in it. The author likely put everything Akise was considering before he realized the truth for a reason: he wanted the reader to tie everything that we know together and hit the obvious conclusion.
Also, I was shocked that the author remembered the mascot suit from when Yuno was stalking Yuki prior to the beginning of the series and showed it hanging when Yuno walked into the room with the other Yuno sitting down. From Chapter 34, if you're curious. Yuno's flashback in that chapter was pretty funny and really HHHNNNNGGGGHHH.
Something Else to Think About
On another note, how do you guys see this series ending? It seems like we might be in for a bad end- with a perpetual Endless Eight situation continuing over and over with them having to play the game over and over again. However, I'm sure that things will turn around and we'll get at least a good ending- I'm sure that all the new things that have been learned from the game prior to the "beginning of the series" and during this game will ultimately lead to an ending where the game doesn't continue and they either reset and somehow don't have to continue the game or they don't reset. I'm very curious how the author could achieve this end though. Perhaps we'll see: "WAIT, YUNO-- I HAVEN'T DONE MY SUMMER HOMEWORK!" pop out of nowhere, and the cycle will end for good. On a more serious note, the "bound together with Yuno" prophecy might lead to what we've been thinking in this thread: Yuno and Yuki merge into a single consciousness and they become God together.

You know, I actually thought of that happening from the beginning of the series. Part of me thought that she was the ACTUAL Deus all along, and was just having a little fun. Nice to see that I was semi-correct with my reasoning that she would have a more important role in the story that "LOOK AT THIS BROWN LITTLE GIRL. AREN'T BROWN LITTLE GIRLS THE BEST?"

Yuki goes batshit when he finds out the truth and questions Yuno. Yuno explains that she did it all for him, he doesn't accept that. Muru-Muru pops into the scene and decides to give some insight on the situation, and maybe brings out some rule that Deus lied about or something.
+Rest of the scene is omitted+
The last few panels show Yukki standing on an island surrounded by his friends and family. They all clap and congratulate him. The panel after says "The End".
Okay, I guess I don't have a really nice theory on how this will end. ll of my previous theories seem less likely as of recently. I still think that the "become one" line is worded in a vague way purposely, and that they will somehow become one single entity or something.

Well..

As you've stated, when a person dies, their diary is gone, correct? But didn't you noticed how there are really unique diaries that popped up near the end? Ex: Mayor's, etc. I'm unsure on whether if there's such of a thing as a "Twin Diary", and if there are, let's say there are two. What if:
>Yuno A dies, Diary A still exists because it's a special diary that might only cease to exist once both Yunos dies?
>Yuno B grabs Yuno A's diary and uses it as a 'fake'.
>Yuno B now ends up with a total of 2 diaries
Though my theory is unlikely, I still have my suspicions. One of the images in the recent chapter reveals two Yunos, though, noting that it was not an actual event but more so 'what could have happened', the only two likely scenarios that makes sense to me:
a) Alternate-universe/world Yuno
b) Twins with special diaries.
We'll see how this unravels. If I'm wrong, so be it, but I hope I will be blown away by the truth.

Thoughts on Murumuru
Yeah- I agree that she always seemed questionable since the beginning and wouldn't just be: "LOOK AT THIS BROWN LITTLE GIRL. AREN'T BROWN LITTLE GIRLS THE BEST?" She just struck me as suspicious merely because of the fact that her loyalty to Deus seemed like it would be a questionable subject given that I was sure that not exactly everything was unquestionably perfect between them both. Reason to suspect her seemed pretty clear from her dialogue with Deus, which always seemed to hint at hidden motives and agendas that she hid behind Deus's back- but Deus was always confident that he had her in check- and especially obvious about this in Paradox.
Now, I'd like to raise a few questions I'd like you guys to think about. What are her motives and what does she aim to do? If this had happened in the prior game, then what does Murumuru aim to achieve by becoming God temporarily? Her goal is clearly not to become God if this had happened in the past. Even if it didn't, then we'd have entirely new question to raise: if the game is to find a replacement for Deus, what happens when Murumuru has become God? As a servant of Deus, would it still mean she has to abide by the fact that the winner becomes the replacement of Deus, or does that make her permanently God and the game becomes null and void now that Murumuru is the successor?
She also seems to favor Yuno. But as we know, if Yuno really was sone sort of proxy or servant of Murumuru, why does Yuno take the time leap and why doesn't Murumuru become God- as I stated before?
The other question to be raised is what Murumuru will do as God.
I'm getting ahead of myself when I say this since we don't know enough about her motives, but based on what's been observed, it seems possible that she wants to put the world in a Higurashi-esque manner: repeating the world constantly until they can resolve everything. And perhaps her goal is just to see the game constantly repeat itself, and she finds an opportunity that in Yuno with her perhaps using her powers as god to guarantee Yuno's victory.
Also, your ending missed out on the furious crayon scribbles.

You have to remember that the power of the diaries were all based on what the typical contents of the diary were. Whether it being the Investigation diary, Couple Diary, Justice Diary, Escape Diary, The Watcher, and so forth- they were all based on what the diaries were originally. So to speak, such a twin diary wouldn't be created out of the fact that they're twins. We've seen the contents of both Yuki diaries, and the difference is in how they address Yuki- but otherwise, they wouldn't be the sort of twin diaries made in mind of complimenting the other.

GE - Good Ending at first i thought its going to be typical shonen love but the mangaka surprised me with how deep the characters are and plot twist now i find myself really loving it . Bleach should just come out with a troll arc already i'm getting tired of it.

Railgun 30: Going without food while overusing her powers for a few days and still win? That's awesome. Next chapter was in the anime, I wonder how it'll turn out.
Mysterious Girlfriend X 45: Very awkward. The author failed in pulling off the "I like Urabe more" scene.
HOLY CRAP. I thought that person was Black Rabbit, I was right, surprisingly. Had it been Hinata, it would have been blatantly obvious and there would be no suspense. This manga gets more interesting by the minute! The girl reminds me of other females I've met on the internet, interesting.
Spoiler
Teru is "Black Rabbit". Hinata knows of "Black Rabbit" because Hikage always mentions about that online user. He was afraid she'd fall in love with him instead. Sad thing is, Teru was always the one supporting her since she was young and encouraging her to try a bit harder. Seems like he's in love with her too, but encourages her to be with Hinata.
Note that Teru and Hinata are friends IRL as well. Not sure if Hinata is MegaPig or not, but I'm curious who MegaPig would be then? I speculated that it was Teru who was Black Rabbit because Teru wanted her to try harder and stop being so shy too, etc. I'm loving this manga right now.
Never found out who MegaPig really was, but he or she seemed like a less important character. I remembered at the beginning or so, he or she said "I have the same parts as you", I'm assuming that implied that MegaPig was always a female. Interesting.
So at the end, Teru and Hinata was competing for Hikage's love. D'aaaaaaaaw. She finally did choose someone too, I was surprised, I was hoping that she would choose someone. I enjoyed the very last chapter, because she said how she is like a sunflower, and how he is like her sun. With him, she can grow and mature. This entire manga was pretty damn adorable, and my eyes sorta got watery reading the very couple last chapters. Baaaaaaaw ;_; So kawaii~! I loved how a sunflower and the sun can have such powerful symbolic meanings in this manga. Such a cute manga. Recommending this to anybody that likes romance.

So good! ;_; ♥
PS: Also, I now understand the meaning of "Koko Ni Iru Yo!", after seeing the final page. It made so much sense. I loved how everything played out perfectly. Author is a genius. I love her work.
