Where are you guys at on your Heart Gold/Soul Silver playthrough?
Right now, I'm Battle Factorying until I can get a hold of my friend's Cyclo which has all my half-finished Battle Frontier teams on it.

Teehee, just sweeped Sabrina's team with my DDance Gyrados. 2 Was all it take. Espeon was a betch with it's psychic! Maybe due to the fact that I'm wayyyyy underlevelled. (Gyrados is 49, Sabz's espeon is 53)

QUICKQUESTION:

Other than victory road, where do I train?
So far the spots I was training at are victory road & the patch-o-grass behind a waterfall @ Safari Zone. (lv3X Miltanks, dittos, fearows and noctowls = <3)

Do it the old fashioned way: redefeat E4 over and over and over and over again

Major Question : In the Battle Hall, if you lose, but you cleared say Electric and Grass to level 10, when you try again do you have to start all the way at the beginning, or do those types still remain at 10? By the way, thanks for the Focus Sash tip Dusk. Saved my life twice. Big Grin

Just got to E4, using them to train my (crappy) team at the moment. Typhlosion, DDancing Lapras, and Miltank. Fighting guy fucks me up. Dig, Rock Throw, and EQ rape Ty, and any fighting type attack takes out Lapras and Miltank.
Looking for something nice to add to my team. Three ideas so far: Donphan, Scizor, and/or Arbok. I seem to have some fetish with physical attackers, so I'd like a special hitter. Any ideas?

Just got Safari Zone's second challenge, but I haven't actually done it yet. Lots of Pogeys open up there.

http://www.serebii.net/pokedex-dp/stat/sp-attack.shtml

From that list, Alakazam, Gengar & Porygon Z are the top 3 non-legendary pokemon with high spatk stats. I wouldnt recommend Alakazam because it got shat on so terribly after the Physical/Special split. Gengar has a wide array of attacks to choose from, but eh not my choice. Porygon Z's alright, but it doesnt get any STAB on the attacks, and is slower compared to the two mentioned before.

Just my 2 cents.

@Worthyness Ah at first I thought if I were to go fight the E4 again, I'd fight the rematch versions. I just went ahead and tried and it was the same. thanks!

They change to their rematch versions right after you defeat Blue, so make sure you can defeat those before you go fight the 16th gym leader.

Mainly doing the daily event stuff right now (Apricorns, password, seals(freaking letter seals!), Trainer house). I think I'm going to train up a Swellow soon, but I don't feel like it yet.

Gah, the Battle Hall is confusing.

Edit: Another question, should I replace Feraligatr's Ice Fang for Ice Punch? 10 more base attack and 5% more accuracy for a perfect 100% sounds like it would help me more..Thoughts?

You said it yourself, Ice Punch is better than Ice Fang in every way.

Big Grin 1 more thing, do you possibly know what the answer to my Battle Hall question is? I've looked around a bit and it never seems to say what I'm looking for.

Sorry, I've only done 10 matches in the Hall. The only Battle Frontier places I have a lot of experience with are Tower and Castle.

Gah, lol It's okay. I'll try to find out if anyone else knows. If you can keep your streaks in the Hall, I think it means that you keep the types you've beaten, but I'm just not sure. =/

Ive had a deal of experience with the hall.

if what i think youre asking is right; Yes, if you use the same pokemon throughout as many trips inside, the choices for your opponents carry over.
so if for the first 10 matches you fought all 10 fire types, when you next go in you will see that the option for fire starts out at 10. this applies even if you spread out your selection of opponents. But only so long as you use the same pokemon each time.

This is sort of what I mean. I'm talking about, if I lose, will all the types reset or will it carry over still?

Dilemma!!!

I'm now outside Blue's gym, and all my pokemon are in the 55-60 range. Where do I train for the E4 Rematch? I'm hoping of getting my pokes to atleast 70 before battling them. Should I not fight Blue and just do E4 (pre-rematch) till I'm at the desired level or go for Blue first then train at _____________?

Right now I have

Staraptor
RedGyarados
Typhlosion
Ampharos
Mamoswine
Last slot is open. Usually for HM Slave or False-Swipping Scizor

If you lose it treats it as if you were starting from square one.
yes, that is the case.

This may be a late reply but

Other than Ryanide's suggestions, you could get a friend to evolve Togetic into Togekiss for you.

Togekiss can destroy all of Bruno's pokemon without a problem with Air Slash and Aura Sphere.

Oh damn, that makes getting the Gold Print nigh on impossible. Wow, okay, well I'll try my hardest not to lose now.

There's a few types I don't have coverage on that I hate fighting. Guess I'll do those next, but I'll probably lose. Hmm, There's Dark, Fighting, Bug, Ice, and Normal I don't have coverage on.

At this point I need someone to trade-evolve my Haunter into a Gengar, and no one around me has/wants to do that, so looking for someone to help me via WFC, just Visitor Message me.

In other news, Beat Whitney and Morty today, and about to clear the Lighthouse and cure the sick Ampharos.

Redesigned my team for Elite Four. Didn't sleep last night trying to get specific Hidden Power types for my pokes. Oh I love the man who tells your pokemon's HP power. EDIT: Not for competitive battling

HP: Fire
Shadow Ball

lv45Espeon@ Life Orb
Psychic
HP: Ground

lv50Staraptor@ Shell Bell (To heal off Brave Bird's damage, more useful than Leftovers)
Brave Bird
Return
U-Turn
Close Combat

lv54Glaceon@ Choice Scarf
Ice Beam
Blizzard
Aqua Tail
HP: Thunder for Aerodactyl/Charizard

Took me atleast 2 hours per pokemon ._.
Had help from my friend for most of the items.
