Um... The difference is if you let it get to 0% durability before you repair it, it'll break. I guess the number of hits depends. I don't know for sure. Durability equipment JUST NOW came out in JapanMS and I'm 2 levels away from my first durability equip on my Bandit.

Hah..
you say dura just like they do in LaTale... I doubt it's anything like what dura is for in LT though.

Locked Wrote:Durability weapons don't break at 0% iirc Really? Then it's like Dragon Ball Online's system. What's the point in durability if the items don't break after durability hits 0? Do the stats disappear until repaired? In Dragon Ball Online, the durability system is useless, except for with the scouter. When a scouter hits 0 durability, all monsters', npcs', and characters' names and stats turn into "????." When clothing hits 0, nothing happens at all. All of your defense and stuff is uneffected and your power level doesn't drop.

ShiKage Wrote:Really? Then it's like Dragon Ball Online's system. wouldnt that make sense? who would want to micro-manage equipment to the level where durability is taken into consideration in an MMO? Isn't the aspect of level grinding mundane enough, that having an item/weapon that deteriorates and loses its effectiveness/bonuses would only serve as a slap in the face, forcing players to either become more addicted to the small idiotic practices of updating and maintaining equipment, or overly frustrate the players with such short attention spans that they end up leaving that game for one less mentally taxing and more draining? and to try to not intentionally derail this thread, itd seem that durability weapons have bonuses that would make them better than regular weapons, but at the cost of durability. Though id rather have a reliable POS sword with laughable stats than a steller god-slayer sword that dulls with use and wouldnt be capable of so much as serving as a butter knife at the end of its usefullness.

So umm... do they all give the same crit rate or what? I remember that many of them are buried in the KMST extractions, but I wasn't sure if there had been any developments beyond that.

From what I saw of them, the only "usefull" durability weapons were the pole-arm, crossbow, bow, and claw. Basically the ones for the classes that already have native crit. Whether the upkeep for these weapons is worth the massive increase in damage....that's for us to find out when they're released and more information can be gathered.

They can also be good for when you recieve SE, making your crit rate higher and damage too. For all classes then.

I would think Crit ring + Durability weapon is good enough to be considered.
2010-05-02, 10:40 AM
uff. when I think about it... Aran 100 combo + SE + Durability weapon + adventurer ring (If they're able to equip them) = 100% crit and super god damn hax damage? Wat.

Not only the critical damage, but the claw, staff, and blade do +20% damage to zakum and pink bean, the crossbow does +20% damage to horntail, and the spear does +20% to the PB statues.
