Pirates vs. Ninjas? Yankees vs. Red Sox? Red vs. Blue? Those are nothing compared to the great conflict of our age:

Cake vs. Pie!

On the occasion of MapleStory’s Fifth Anniversary Pie Lord Tiara and Cake Boss Daniel have taken the battle to a new level. They’ve both enlisted the magical help of Elpam Gorlab of New Leaf City whose extra ingredient mutated cakes and pies into monsters! It’s up to Maple World’s adventurers to take up sides in the final battle between Cake and Pie and declare a victor in the longest running-struggle in Maple history!

On May 5th, simply talk to the Maple Admin NPC to align yourself with either the Cake or Pie faction. Collect and return Cake or Pie Pieces to your faction leaders, Cake Boss Daniel and Pie Lord Tiara, to fight off the opposing dessert monsters to gain control of the four major towns: Henesys, Orbis, Leafre, and Magatia. Once you collect enough pieces, a Cake or Pie boss monster will invade a town every three hours. The faction that defeats the boss or defends it during the timed battle will gain control of one of these towns.

This epic war of desserts will last until June 15th.

IDC what anyone says this patch really isn't that bad it's a decent patch really...Though it won't satisfy some since they didn't get 140+ Content...

50 for a maple weapon level 35, or 450 for a white scroll... hmm...

I hope the mount looks less stupid than its icon, though.

Oh man, the Leafre minidungeons are gonna be unavailable to one faction? lol.

I wonder if the packet editing-glitch is fixed or not by now. Hopefully, it is.

There not gonna forget this early, I'm sure it's fixed, lol.

This will be decent if the insignia's don't require ridiculous amounts of effort and playtime. Knowing Nexon they'll probably add some cash shop item that allows you more chances to get them so normal players can't get those chairs.

1900 insignias for two of each of the chairs. Fuck me.

wait. What the hell does it mean by "mini-dungeon access". Are they going to make it so anyone who votes for the loser can't train in mini-dungeons for an entire patch?

I was under the impression that there would be "special" mini-dungeons for the winners, which would either have a spawn advantage, or a drop advantage, or something along those lines. Least that's how I read it the first time around *rereads*

They've done it before; last year! Sure, it was one entrance but any other entrance meant paying real, hard, cash. Not surprised by this. I think it was the Maple Crystal event that this happened.

Also, the cake boss has the wrong boss icon if anyone else picked up on that.

Don't assume the worst.

I'm just wondering how often the insignias drop. Cause if they give you like 5 everytime you kill a boss, that could take a very long time for some people. (maybe not if they're tradeable, which i doubt)

Chairs look fun, even though I'll probably not be online too often.

They're probably creating some special cake/pie monster mini dungeons for the anniversary, similar to last year.
*Hopes it is.*

This will be good as long as the chairs, and other new items don't expire... If they do then I guess I'll just aim for wepaons instead. So far I'm looking forward to killing the cake boss again. It was always fun to do even if you didn't get anything xD

I wonder how we're supposed to protect the bosses.

Don't forget to hope that the insignia looting is not free for all. I hate killing bosses just to have noobs loot all that they drop/parts of what they drop >_> Also, I wonder if they'll remember to put boss flags on them so snipe, mb, poison, etc. do not work on them, lol.

Edit:

If you look at the screenshots, the 4th one has the chicken item on top, meaning that someone's riding on it (I think). Additionally, you see a chicken right beside the light bulb, so I'll guess that would be it.

And they don't even know what to do with them, so they NPC them (if the item can be sold to an NPC.)

Hmm. Mini dungeons being blocked to the winners would kind of suck, though i figure i won't be leveling as much after welcome back rings are gone.

Wait, how can you defend the bosses? Unless you can finally kill other players...
