Kinda true, when pet looting was released they nerfed normal looting & made it impossible to have a non-looting pet without screwing everything up.

There was even a hack to let you loot fast like a pet back in the day.

I just live with slower looting now, it's not the end of the world if I train slower than nx hos.

Anger about pet looting is absolutely valid

Anger about pet skill refreshing is kind of pointless. Trusting a pet with an IMPORTANT skill is a death wish, and the rest of the skills are things that just save you 12 milliseconds from having to move a finger over to hit 3 buttons. It's effectively the same as having a macro, except it does it automatically when you're old one runs out. Also means your stupid ass pets are going to sit there buffing you while you're sitting in town. There is VERY VERY VERY little advantageous about having a pet buff you. It's not worth complaining about, as opposed to the significant change a pet with auto-loot brings.

Stuff like that is all within the boundaries of programming, and you can't do anything with it as you are only a user. So I don't blame people for buying pets to loot, though I don't encourage it. I mean, I used to use my pet to loot sh`t from lv 4x-12x or so on my Night Lord, I admit. Though it was never constant, because there were months that I'd grind without the use of a pet. Kinda glad you noticed too, Stereo.

Customer response: Oh, I can't pick up as fast as my pet. I'll just spend approximately 20 dollars or so to buy a pet, get a pouch, some other sh`t, oh, let's throw in a name-tag too!

Now, mind you, since all of that expires every 3 months, they might be paying around 80 dollars a year just for all of that. I'm not going to get into details since I'm thinking of the essentials (Meso Magnet, Item Pouch/Bag whatever, Wings Boot, etc). Not like you'll need to pick up the sh`t Mesos that drops anyways. Items, yes. Most likely scrolls, equipments, etc. Most people won't care for ETCs unless it's for forging.

I know Bishops out there that can play to 150 without spending a penny on this game, one who is currently on my BL (who then quit after reaching 17x or so). But other than that, other functions of gameplay such as attacking-speed and etc shouldn't be affected at all. I can still spam Triple Throw like crazy without the use of NX, no change. Only thing that is mostly affected is probably shops, which you cannot do unless you have NX, period. Merchanting is significantly harder and almost impossible without a shop though.

In Nexon Korea, equips do not expire. That's the reason they lost money with pirates (shared cash shop). Pets do expire, but just as here. Yeah, you can blame it the American way, but just to point it out here. The separate cash shops was to still gain money with their classes. Something that didn't make sense here, because of the expiry dates.

My point is: "pet loot is worth it in Korea"

EDIT: And as long as you can buy it off someone with their cash shop trading thing. Also, the same with MTS, but that doesn't apply there. IF IT DIDN'T EXPIRE, though.

Actually, since the pets would be picking up items server-side rather than clientside, you skip the middleman and the items go instantly, without the game's usual action-slowing checks.

The change is that you can't request multiple item pickup. When you press your "loot" key, it used to look for any item you hadn't tried to loot yet and immediately send "plz loot". Now it waits for confirmation of every single item before it'll ask for another. You'd only be limited by how fast your loot key repeats, now it's limited by how fast you can send/receive a looting packet.

Also, regarding pets in kMS, we don't have pet items (meso bag, item pouch, etc.). We buy skills for our pets and they're permanent. We just need a Water of Life to revive it every 3 months.
