Problems with GameShark on FireRed and a PSP
#1
Guys I need some help. I'm trying to do a playthrough with 3rd gen pogeys in FireRed but I'm finding some trouble. The GameShark or AR codes all over the internet don't seem to work on VBA nor No$GBA. Problem is I want to play the game on my GBA PSP emu, and the emus for the PSP suck at cheat support. I was wondering if I could save the game (in-game lol) and use the .sav file and move it over to the PSP. Should this work? Do you know any GS or AR working codes so I can do this?

Thanks in advance!

Altering a save and then transferring it should work fine. Your problem is finding codes that work. The cheats themselves won't save (walk through walls, etc.) but if you level your Pokemon to 100 or edit their stats, those kinds of chances are permanent.

Thanks, I kinda guessed that it should've worked. Off to get some working codes I go!

Yes, it's had one since forever ago. It also has an SNES emulator, though last time I checked a lot of games ran like crap on it. Still worked for some games though, I was able to play Brutal Mario on my PSP without many framerate problems. The N64 emulators run almost everything like crap though.

If you're intersted, almost every console from the N64 backwards has an emu on the PSP. Also there's a MAME emu. Yes, that's what I call backwards compatibilty. The Snes9x for the PSP can be improved with a couple plug-ins now Spidey. I played FF6 on it just recently. It's nothing compared to the ZSnes enjoyment though.

Well, yeah it's a damn good reason to do it. You have to get a Custom Firmware though, but I guess you should know.
