unbanned or not?

my chaos ban appeal ticket was closed with the following which seemed rather confusing to me:

I understand that you would like to have your account released from its block. Upon review of your account, your appeal has been granted, and we have decided to reduce your ban duration to 14 days.

We have not released your account because your character was in possession of items that had been obtained through use of a game exploit. Regardless of whether or not you performed this exploit, by obtaining these items, you were still contributing to the situation.

So, appeal granted or not released? I'm not on the rankings and I'm not going to log in at home where I play with my non banned account.

They won't. Which is the lol-tacular part of this.

Everyone who got unbanned got to keep their scrolls. I don;t know about you, but I really think it should of been a more uniform punishment than letting some people go with a slap on the wrist and leaving everyone else unbanned. Also, it's not like the amount of scrolls were a litmus test for your innocence, I know someone with 220 scrolls and got unbanned, yet someone with 46 got the copy-pasted: YOU ARE BANNED 4EVA, message.

I'm sorta inclined to think that the wording was key as well. The common trend in all successful tickets was admiting wrong and asking to have the scrolls taken away in exchange for the account (While the latter didn't happen).

i didnt spam them yet and didnt spam tickets. & i made a new ticket before getting a response. This is what I wrote.

I did buy a lot of chaos scrolls at low price not knowing why it was cheap. If Nexon had notified the situation to the players, innocent players wouldn't have been banned by buying the scrolls. Many people who bought the scrolls including myself did not know that the scrolls were obtained illegally.

F'ucking christ.

[COLOR="Magenta"]I think what they're referring to him "contributing" is that he was in possession of 100 chaos scrolls.
Anyone can agree that if you wanted to be "legit" the smart thing to do was to not buy so many chaos, because you're pretty much supporting the hacking's causes.

How can one, legitimately obtain chaos scrolls. Could you really make enough of merchanting to have enough? Not to mention you may break some of Maple's rules trying to merchant, such as multiple accounts. We all know they hate that.

Grats on the appeal though. I'm surprised they did lift your ban.

Yesterday maple administrator(the npc) talked to me while i was training. His message was: you have been banned from maplestory for hacking(i never hacked in my whole life and never exploited bugs). Then i got disconnected and i couldn't logg into the game anymore. One hour after, i was unbanned. Very strange. Anyone has seen this problem?

If the Maple Administrator NPC is talking to you, that's the Auto-ban System.

off topic but, that is the autoban message, its a work in progress for nexon, it does do the false positive thing quite a bit.
