I finally got a response to my ticket.
"I understand that you would like to have your account released from its ban.
Unfortunately, your appeal to have your ban lifted has been denied. After investigating your account we have found that it was guilty of exploiting an in game event. Your account will not be released from its block. Please remember account holders are required to play by the rules of MapleStory. This looks kind of undisputable... I've had tickets closed where they still answered the comments that I made, but that was to settle an issue that they caused. A ban lift appeal that they investigated and denied will probably not be touched again I fear. Sorry for your loss.

Your only option is an outside source like the Better Business Bureau. You can't reason with a dictatorship but you can put pressure on them.

Use real contact information and such. They won't phone you but it doesn't bode well if you lie.
Just so you know, there's a pretty slim chance of anything coming from even this. Nexon typically replies with "We do not respond to outside blah blah's if you have an issue please send us a ticket." Make a compelling argument. It won't change anything but it will just go further in showing how negligently they deal with issues.
Oh yeah, be honest about what you did. I doubt that you actually hacked any of those chaos scrolls, but you should be up front about having bought them.

This is the chaos incident right?
Now this seems unfair, since a handful of my friends were unbanned with their scrolls intact (Well the ban was reduced to 14 days).
They mentioned that they bought the scrolls (numbers from 70 to 200) early in the day, without complete knowledge of any hacks, but they themselves weren't the primary source of the scrolls. And they all mentioned that they wouldn't object to having the scrolls removed to have their account back.
Did your ticket mention something similar? If so, then it's unfair how they randomly choose who to punish or not. Should be all or nothing.

Chameleonic, or anyone else intending to attempt to appeal their ban through the better business bureau: this is a great example of what you don't want to write.
Be clear, don't pass blame, don't make false or uncertain statements like "Nexon America had no proof yet banned my accounts for having too many item that were suppose to be rare."

Although that is the typical response, they have resolved issues through BBB in the past. You have to explain the situation honestly and thoroughly. All you said was "Nexon unjustly bans people QQ'. You didn't even explain the Chaos Scroll situation or why you had such a large quantity.

Agree'd with sarah. When filing such a complaint it's good to have your own evidence to disprove their evidence. However from the bolded fractions of your sentense, you clearly just fucked yourself over. First off, when I read that, in a "WHAT IS MAPLESTORY" mind set. The first question set to mind is "So why did a rare item suddenly become "were" rare rather than "are" rare. They are banning players so it obviously wasn't intentional."
Although nexon admitted this was a glitch, it was at the same time a hack. There was nothing wrong with how nexon released the patch, just how it was manipulated to benefit the 3rd party resource. To be honest anyone with chaos scrolls, of to the point where you have well over a dozen are pretty much fucked from any complaining/legal/any form of argument, standpoint. Unless you claim those chaos scrolls (which they could find) were on your account before the patch. Other than that, you pretty much took advantage of a situation and claimed ignorance. In terms of right, even without the TOS, they are in the right, sadly on this one.
As said, unfortunatly your fucked and no form of 3rd party assistance is going to change that.

What did your original ticket say that got banned?
Did you profit from the chaos scrolls?
I haven't even received an answer on mine yet, but I did say that I hadnt really used/sold any scrolls but I had dueyed some. I recently made a mule and moved all the scrolls that weren't banned to it and left it in a comment on my ticket. Because no matter how it comes out, I didn't profit from the hack. I gave them access to the scrolls that they didn't ban with my account, and I've been patient.
The only thing I was guilty of was buying things in the mts.
Did you buy your scrolls in mts or did you buy masses in fm?
I'm really wondering how they're deciding who to lift bans for and who not to.

Just for clarity can you please tell us any and everything you did with chaos on that day. did you buy in fm or mts, did you sell in fm or mts, did you directly from hackers? not trying to beat the dead horse, just trying to figure out what the fk is going on. also what was the lvl of your char.

Probably they, like the bigfoot ban, are basing it off an estimated guess (such as 16+). Ironically if they added time dates such as before the patch was put up, this would be a completely legit way of dealing with this. However I don't think they applied this as, if I recall, Hope4 got banned for having them in her inventory before the patch, correct me if I'm wrong.

No matter how you look at it, if you bought an abnormal amount of these scrolls, theres no feasible argument to get this lifted. Hell even with NX charged on your account, it's virtual. Virtual property barely holds up in civil cases. Unless you have reciepts of the NX you spent on the character, as an investment, that's the only way you could put a price on your character. Even then were talking thousands of receipts to make the case even worth while. Nexon, like gmail, like hotmail, like every other free service, is indeed a free service and really have no obligation to even offer customer assistance.
How fucked up it is, that's the reality of the court system.

The issue with that line of thinking
*people who were unbanned either:
--Did not lose their scrolls and had lots of them
--Or did lose their scrolls but got the account back.
I just don't understand the reasoning, and I guess as more people are unbanned/have their requests denied maybe it will become more apparent.

Ditto. One guy I know got un-banned with a stack of 100, supposedly some people got unbanned with much more than that too <_<
