Original General Dungeon Fighter Thread
Just finished a Vilmark Kings Run for my 30 SP. Lvl 50 Gaia, Lvl 48 Gaia, Lvl 48 Witch and me.

So Insane.

Probably hardest room was Ivan room cause I couldn't see them at all. Ran through the dungeon like it was nothing.
What class in this game is noob friendly? I don't have a preference for classes at the moment, I just want to make something that can easily go through PVE without much trouble. Just to get experience in the game.
Well, do you prefer close or long range? The Slayer/Fighter/Priest classes cater to the former while Gunners/Mages are more of the latter. But there are exceptions, Asuras, Nen Masters and Exorcists of the Slayers, Fighters and Priests respectively focus more on long range and Rangers and Battlemages are more close ranged.

Mages are not the class to start with, as they are slow and boring to level to 18. So look into what the others do before going in.

I'd personally suggest aiming for a Priest class to start, as they are very powerful in the early levels and allow you to just get used to things.
Well it seems like I'll be rolling a priest. We'll see how far I can go with it when i get home.

They are relatively slow to make up for the fact that they have more power, in case that turns you off. You can also try each type of by rolling one for a few levels.
Is this game as Nx dependant as MS ?
Maybe. It sort of is with how crap the economy is though...
Ceddybear Wrote:Is this game as Nx dependant as MS ?
Maybe for pvp, but for dungeons it's nowhere as near as MS is, you can get all your armor and all your weapons for most classes by doing quests. Just spend 1k to expand your safe and you'll be set for a while.

I agree with Priest being easiest to start up. Fighter is easy as well. IMO Mages aren't as bad as everyone makes them out to be. Spells are strong, ancient library for MP, ridiculously easy style (only if you have a rod) + fang + upper + xxx. Slayers are the one to avoid for me, weak attacks and mostly slow quest weapons, get hit a lot and no "go-to" skills really, although it gets a lot better at 15 with upper slash cancel.
Other than the mandatory $4 every month for a store permit, not entirely.
KK, so i made a priest im level 7? and when i hover my mouse over the skills to see what the pineapple they are and do i lag like pomegranate and i don't see any description. What do i do.
Just restart DFO. If it continues (which it shouldn't) then restart your comp.
I think I suck at playing this game because the quests that require me to get X amount of Style/Technique percentages doesn't even come close to the quota. Are those quests worth doing and if they are, do I have to do them ASAP?
I came up with yet another Summoner build.

This one involves no Zealous Creature, but has a higher level Wisp (level 18 Wisp at 60) so it is tough enough to still perform it's duty as stunlocking enemies at the higher level dungeons, because I heard that level 11 Wisps die in 2 hits at 50-60 dungeons. Is this true? Does raising the level of my Wisps indeed give them more life/defense? I can't tell because my summmons always received reduced damage from monster attacks so they don't die that fast.

Is it a rumor that 2nd Impact will make summons have more life depending on the magic attack of your weapon, so I can just leave Wisp at level 11?

This also leads me to another question: Do you expert Summoners find Zealous Creature worth the 135 SP invested to get it (assuming every normal Summoner has at the very least level 1 Lasher)? Is there a noticeable increase in sheer damage output when you activate it? I heard it only affects Contract (hired) summons, which means diddly for Spirit King and all spirit summons both low and high tier. My only hired summons will be Freet, Louise, and Kasijas, so less than 1/3 of my summons will benefit from it.
You need to keep leveling a summon if you want to keep using it. It's really that simple. Un-leveled or under-leveled summons get torn apart. You can't utilize Wisps' stun ability if you don't keep them leveled. They will almost never stun anything if their stun level is too low. High level Wisps do have pretty good DPS in mob form, but their stun ability is what makes them shine. Don't gimp the poor guys if you're going to be using them.

Zealous affects all summons, including Spirits. It just doesn't help them as much as Contracts. Regardless, I completely regret getting it. It's the one thing I'd reset out and change about my Spirit Summoner's build. With those 135 points, I could have kept my Murker usable. I may still fix that mistake. I would only consider getting Zealous if you're a Contract Summoner and really can't find another use for the points. Spirit Summoner like me? Don't do it. Hybrid Summoner? Maybe, but I'd say no. I don't like the skill. It doesn't make enough of a difference to be worth it, and it even costs Cubes.

As for the build you posted, I would take points from Train and get max Wisp and Quick Rebound. I love max Train and am a huge supporter of it for Spirit builds, but it's not a vital skill. Quick Rebound is one of the most useful utility skills you can get. Plus it's so cheap. It's certainly fine the way it is, though. Just a couple things to consider.

Double edit: Did not notice you had Library. I know you like that skill, but...yeah. It's really unnecessary. I think it's much better to buff your abilities than waste precious SP on a glorified potion saver. Much better to invest in an MP regen set. I don't have Library, and I never use an MP potion. Kings full clear, any dungeon. You name it. No need. Just watch out for monsters that drain MP. lol
Thank you for your help earlier, Felix.

Anyone selling blue cube frags and Terranite? Those are the only two stuff I need now, and I'm not prepared at all to run through Vilmark tons of times to get the Terranite I need. It'll probably take more money to run through Vilmark and then the Terranite than buying it.

I'm a Hybrid. Freet and Louise are my Contract ass kickers, while Aquarius, Glarine, and Spirit King are my main Spirits. Kasijas is an obvious choice. All 5 of these summons are maxed so they remain powerful; Murker and Flame Hulk will be kept at 5 just so I can get Spirit King. The dilemma was that I heard people keep Wisp at level 11 for mass summoning, and that Zealous Creature isn't that hot on anything not a Contract summon. Your answer helped my question though, because if I only have 2 Contract summons up most of the time 135 SP for more power feels a little lackluster. If it powered up Spirits equally i may have considered keeping it. Looks like I'll be keeping Lasher at level 1 then, so my Wisps have a chance to still rock out even at the level cap.

I have 12-14 I can sell to you for 30k each.
Aye aye. I'll purchase them tomorrow, Holypie.
I'll donate you the 10 I have from Vilmark runs.

You don't have to, but you should try. I had that same problem on my Priest. I suggest you try the "X Bet" quests, as Preists are able to clear dungeons like cake. You can also try launching stuff with GWL a lot and then punching them to get style points.
