Vicious Hammer-Duey Glitch Abuse

The definition of a glitch is an aspect in-game that creates unintended game play or game advantage. We recently addressed a serious glitch that involved extra upgrades being applied to items with Vicious' Hammer by abusing the item glitch with the Duey delivery system.


Items modified using this exploit will be removed from the game. Players who have intentionally exploited and profited from these items will be subjected to further investigation and possible punishment.


We strongly urge players to avoid the temptation of abusing a glitch or interacting with other players who are engaging in such activities. Such activity can often result in a suspension or permanent ban from MapleStory.

Watch them just delete all items with more than +9.

I'm surprised they actually found out this existed let alone did something about it. I'll reserve my praise for after this happens though (really wouldn't be surprised to see my +9 brown work glove disappear after the next SC).

Of course, if you want to avoid this, just DUEY your glitched items!

If they pull this off without a hitch, I will be impressed. Though, like Cyanne said, I'm sort of surprised they even acknowledged/found out this was going on.

if you are reffering to the htp, they got skipped first over duey but the next servercheck took care of the ones skipped at first, even the ones still in duey or storage. the htp that are still around where hammered but not scrolled yet untill after all the fixing and thus not noticed. that is how they still exist

Although I would much prefer it if they made the announcements official where every Mapler can see (as expected from the Web launch) instead of their lolforums, I do give them the credit for actually acknowledging these problems. I don't know how incompetent they still are, but at least they're not keeping us in the dark, partly. This way, some certain people wouldn't pull the I-did-not-know-buying-100chaos-for50m-was-bad bullshi't.

It's also pretty much a sure thing that items in this case that weren't rehammered or hammered but not scrolled are going to escape too.

i wonder if varsity's hero lunchbox also say bb f3 (assuming they will delete all the times that are more than +9 (as for weapons))
