Colossi are pineappleing beasts.
 Spoiler
Leveled everything I had because my only Air-to-Ground was Battle Cruisers being made very slowly.

Don't ask why that Crucio isn't in Siege Mode. That was my first question. Don't land your Vikings in this situation by the way either.

I was severely short on Vespene so I had to choose between Ravens and Cruisers. Ravens probably would have been a better choice for defense. I was right in the middle of reallocating miners towards Vespene when this happened. This particular match, the enemy had mainly Immortals and Colossi, with some Zealots, and mostly just Stalkers for Anti-Air. They used Blink very pineappleing well. Whenever my Cruisers targeted them it would Blink each individual Stalker out of range to continue attacking. Had to chase down the Stalkers first too since it was their only Anti-Air. I was expecting Carriers so I planned with Vikings, using Crucios on the ground, but this caught me way off guard since I haven't seen a Colossus yet, let alone know how to bring them down fast.

This was a 4 man free for all, by the way. I eliminated North, and he eliminated South.

It looks so beautiful on other people's computers. But. But! At least I can play it! : D

I really do miss Lurkers and Defilers, though, with their Dark Swarm and Plague... At least Infestors do pretty things.

JoeTang Wrote:Try Starcrack V6.1 for AI. It comes in Standard, and Cheating varieties for that extra challenge. pomegranate's scary when you see six Carriers fly into your base from your mineral spawn.

I'm liking the tactical strategy with the Sentries though frail they are. Force Fields are cool.

It seems Blizzard's changed a lot of things, and haven't even updated their website yet, so who knows if those changes will be coming around to the beta or final version or not.

Here's what I think of your Zerg

(Yeah, after seeing your screens I know it looks like crap, but like Loose I'm happy to be playing the game at all)

Infestors are just insane. Neural Parasite for powerful units like Thors and Carriers, Fungal Growth for weak organic units like Zealots and Marines, and if all else fails mass summons. Best spellcaster yet.

I'm really impressed with Starcrack 6.1. Hackers scripted this together in what, a week? It actually puts up a good fight and lets you try different strategies. It's still pretty stupid - I see workers trying to scout where I have a bunch of Roaches lined up, and then running back and forth for no apparent reason. It tries to follow single units around instead of focusing on the most important targets. But at this point it's probably better than the Blizzard-coded Brood War AI (lol army of workers following you to your base), so again, really impressed.

I have 19 idle workers and 5000+ unused minerals because I wasted a couple minutes building a Nydus Worm into their base just for the hell of it and my first mineral field just ran out.

Those huge, bulbous flying things are Infestors? I could of sworn they were land based units.

By the way, where did you guys get the cracked version from? I don't want to try one and then get viruses, lol.

Are those pictures actually supposed to show something? All I see is what looks like lasers and a bubble effect.

Too much going on.

I don't particularly like the Zerg AI. It's just constantly spamming Zerglings and Roaches. If it actually finds out you have air though, it'll make Mutalisks and Corrupters, which are fairly annoying if you don't match them in numbers.

It's much better than the Brood War AI. They'll attack things that block their path to get to things like Bunkers or Photon Cannons instead of walk back and forth. And they actually fortify up their tech tree if they're given time.

Top right. Those bricks. They're not buildings. They're Carriers. Try as they might, Carriers win the game. Unless you have an equal number of Carriers, or more Void Rays, God forbid, it's game over.
What's everyone think of Battle Cruisers? They seem quite weak comparatively to Carriers in my opinion.
My preferred route with Terran now is Air-to-Ground with Banshees, supported by Ravens for Point-Defense & Detection, and some Vikings for Air-to-Air. Banshees are extremely cheap and effective, especially compared to Cruisers if you're just going in for Ground sweeping, and they can cloak. Fully upgraded, they do 15x2 Normal compared to what 12 Fast of a Cruiser?

Finally downloaded the game today about after internal debate.

I just prefer to Nydus Worm my Zerg units (usually Hydralisks and some Zerglings. I'm too used to SCI to use Roaches yet, ha ha) into a backroute of the enemy. It's fun, especially when I'm like praying OH PLEASE DON'T NOTICE IT PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE.

I also seem to end up with so many drones mining minerals and too little expansions X_X. I usually get a good early expansion, but then I have at least 30 drones at one base...

My computer, although I do consider it pretty decent, seems quite slow at running SCII. It's also kind of hard trying to tell the Zerg Units apart from the Creep.

Last, I need to work on my micromanagement, ha ha.

Why do people always compare blizzard games to warhammer? I see that in WoW all the time.
