Lilynouch

So I decided to try and solo this bastard to get access to oblivion mobs, and after three deaths decided it was impossible when he damage reflects. The buff is activated the second the animation starts, and damage reflect is a one hit kill for a mage since it bypasses magic gaurd; in other words, the second it hits 50% HP it's just a matter of time before I drop dead, unless I stop attacking. Is there any strategy to soloing this guy, or will I just have to find a party?

When it uses damage reflect, use magic claw or any other low Spell.

It should make it less painfull

I'm pretty sure damage reflect doesn't actually depend on the amount of damage one deals. Besides, if I could see when it's about to cast damage reflect I would just stop attacking since it's not that long of a buff.

Although soloing Lilynouch is one of the most challenging bosses to fight as a mage, due to damage reflect ignoring magic guard, it is very possible. I've soloed him successfully 3 times before quitting, but keep in mind I have died numerous times due to that damage reflect.

Do you play with headphones or speakers on? You can hear Lily activating damage reflect before the animation pops on screen. I always used this to my advantage. Also remember his ground stomp attack is 100% avoidable by jumping, and his ice attack has a fixed range that can be avoided by teleporting. Lilynouch requires patience as a mage, but unless you're in a world where they are getting slaughtered everyday, all you need is time.

Good luck.

Well, I don't wear headphones while playing, mostly because I'm usually watching a show on my laptop while playing. And I have no worries about its other attacks. The super KB is easily avoidable, and his other attack does a little over 1k because of resistance. The only problem is the damn damage reflect.

I figure either I can find a party, or I can wait until my CB is high enough leveled to take it down, since at least he'll be able to take a hit.

Eh, I never had this problem. The moment you start doing 1 damage, stop?

The very first time I do one damage, I'm dead.

Just plan ahead. He can't stay in DR 100% of the time, and iirc has at least a 20 second window to attack in before he can recast it.

Time it. He only casts it once every minute and it lasts 10 seconds, meaning you have 50 seconds to attack. Once he's getting toward 50% HP he starts using it, so start being careful. Then, one he's used it, as soon as it disappears go nuts until you believe around 40 seconds are up (I usually went for 30 seconds to be safe). It takes a while but you'll do it without dying for sure.

That's strange, is that supposed to happen?

Yep, Lilynouche's DR does about 2200-2600 damage. My FP only has about 2550 HP.

When it's at around 50% hp left, only attack during the delays of its attacks (while it's attacking you) since it can't activate DR when it's in the middle of an attack, unless someone's lagging or something.

Only attacked when it was already casting an attack until the first time it cast damage reflect, then kept a clock open. It takes 50-60 seconds until he can recast, so i attacked then. Just had to be really careful the first time he cast it.

I've noticed his damage reflect was doing about 1500 damage to me (to HP directly) so I just needed to keep my hp 100% full all the time and watch out for the DR animation.

I went with 2 other friends but we could kill it fine after we started noticing the DR pattern and keeping HP high.

It does no more damage than the amount of health you have if your health is less than its damage range.

For instance, if I have 1600 health, it will do 1600 damage to me. If you have 1553 health, it will do 1553 damage to you.

I have more than 1500 HP so I survived a hit from DR on my mage.

His control could have been better. He needs to jumpcast paralyze instead of just jumping. Also, instead of walking into the body, he should have teleported out of the range of the falling rocks skill. When it casts damage reflect, he should have teleported down into safety instead of staying up top and jumping around trying to avoid attacks. And idk why he turned off Elquines near the end. >_>

Damage is random.
