Currently Airing Anime
Railgun 24
Should've villainized Telestina less, but a pretty good ending nonetheless.

King of Eden: It's finally here and it's as confusing as ever. What do the trailers have to do with their places in the game? Somehow taking out the trailers = kicking the person out of the game? Juiz is the new best character of the show. All those moods and emotions she expresses in her voice alone is amazing, especially how elated she was to hear Takizawa's voice, her worry of not being helpful enough for the Johnny Hunter, and her contempt for #6. Saki's English is good; the taxi driver is a jerk. Loved the depiction of NYC. That was Grimaldi's they stopped next to after running from Brooklyn Bridge, right? Oh, and it was funny how Pants was talking about NEET roots and such. He was pretty cool though.

Kimi ni Todoke 25: I guess they're leaving it open ended since the manga's not over, but I will just assume they'll keep moving along. Great show overall. Romantic and heartwarming. Slow pace but it's fitting.

Soranowoto 10: Did not see that coming. It was pretty touching though. The mood of the whole episode.

12: If the Holy Roman Emperor was such a nice guy, why did he need a marriage to stop the war? Or is it another complex political move? It was a wonderful show though. I have high hopes for the anime that'd take the slot next season. There was something believable about the war and the people that made it emotional for me. And great use of the melody.

WHAT

That was... I mean... you had an epic confession going. WITH BACKGROUND MUSIC. THERE WERE VOCALS.

And... nothing happened, life went on as usual, and nothing really happened in the ending.

Really? Tongue

Finally got around to watching this. Flawless as usual (though I could've done without the two minute post-battle epilogue).

Sora no Woto: 9/10
Great series, except it just doesn't have that extra 'oomph' for me to bump it up to a 10/10. Mostly because it's not that memorable a series. Nothing really defines/represents the show.

I assume you mean Gainax Ending, not Gainaxing. Though there was some of that too.

Personally, I was half-expecting Tsuchi to end up dying from cancer or something, since as far as I remember, someone said he looked sick in 11. Nothing really came of that.

The ending itself wasn't trippy, though. The first half was a little odd, but obviously a dream sequence.

Yeah, meant ending.
Bummer though. I was gonna watch it if it did.

Three assassins sent to kill Akira? Awesome.

I liked the ending but I didn't like the epilogue. I was really expecting an ending related to the legend. Not necessarily death but some form of sacrifice. At least the series overall was solid.

Kobato 18-24:
D'AWWWWWWWWWWWWWW. That was a sweet ending. Everything was resolved, for the most part, so I am satisfied with the ending. It was also nice to see how all of the characters' lives when on and how they grew over the years.

Overall, Kobato was decent. The episodes in the middle of the series got a little repetitive but those last few episodes tied everything together really well.

Heroman 1: Pretty dang good, actually. It certainly feels like an American cartoon in some ways- namely, the "struck by lightning" plot and the main characters, but that's not really a bad thing.

Kanon 2006 (1-25): Not as good as Clannad but not as bad as AIR. It got a bit redundant with its story arcs. Though the individual arcs fitted in with the main storyline, a bit of variety other than "I don't remember" wouldn't have hurt. The main character lacked emotions.

Miracle Train 1 : ... Does this show have a plot or climax or is it just a happy ending every episode?

Rumbling Hearts/Kimi ga Nozomu Eien (1-3): What the fuck did I just watch? I came in expecting Kimagure Orange Road + Kanon but what I got was a 1980s softcore porn. The bgm puts me to sleep. Though it's probably most ideal for someone who really has patience for a slow moving tragedy-romance.

Different tastes, I guess. I just ..enjoyed Kanon a lot more than I did with Clannad, though Clannad had comical scenes, tons of it. Yuuichi reminded me of myself, and Ayu was kawaii, so maybe that's why I enjoyed Kanon. That and I thought the ending was cute. Glad to know you finished it though. :3

Ai to Yuuki no Pig Girl Tonde Buurin (Episode 1-2)
Story isn't as cliche as I had thought. It's been over 15 years since I've seen this, I forgot almost everything. Girl becomes superhero by accident, after obtaining her 'lolpignose' item. Character's name is Karin Kokubu, and she's also in love with a dude named Koichi (she refers to him as Koichi-kun). Once she met Ton-chan, her life changed forever. Becoming a hero and having to save people. However, the reward is that for every good 'deed' she does, depending on the level of difficulty (or something like that), she gets pearls. If she gets up to 100 (I think), she can have a different transforming kit and can become any heroine she wants. She hates her "Buurin" form, claiming that it is hidious and ugly. She is stuck with it at the moment, but she gains hero powers whenever she's in that form.

Apparently, Koichi is fond of Buurin, but Karin doesn't want him to be like her hero-form, because then he wouldn't pay attention to her as "Karin". Other than that, anime sure is nostalgic~!

Ichiban Ushiro no Daimaou (Episode 1)

At first, it looked like Harry Potter + Disgaea. Really, it did. It got pretty interesting near the middle of the episode, and the ending of that episode was a tad expected, but the fact that this so called 'Observer' showed up makes me curious. Seems like a pretty decent anime that isn't centered around constant tits. Awesome.

How to describe... pleasantly generic? I dig it. Strangely amusing to watch my own culture through a Japanese lens with Stan Lee there to make sure it doesn't go haywire. Will take some getting used to: Psy's hair. Even by anime standards, it's a little ridiculous. Love the OP

I've been hearing "Heroman","Heroman", "Heroman", and "Heroman" nonstop on /a/ yesterday in the rare occasion I ever do lurk 4chan. I was actually pretty shocked to see that there was so much buzz about this series, because I had come across this to see what else Stan Lee is doing in anime and manga besides Karakuridouji ULTIMO, and saw the manga for this, but wound up uninterested to check it out and had no clue about the plans for an anime on this. So, with all the word about it, I checked it out last night and here's my thoughts.

I was pleased to see that this wasn't half-bad...in America. Very generic and full of cliches, but that's something pleasing for this series...in America! What I like about this series is that it's the Saturday morning done right; without the half-assed and crappy animation that plagues most Saturday morning cartoons and it's got a fair plot going for it...in America! The show feels like a mix of Gurren Lagann and Ben 10 to me. The plot seems simple and not too convoluted or trying too hard to fit with what's considered standard anime fare like Stan Lee does with ULTIMO, and that's something I like. Bones is doing a pretty fine job with this series, and let's hope that good direction takes Stan Lee's story and makes it into something nice. As for character designs... not really fond of Joey looking really feminine, Psy might take some time to get used to, and Lina's pretty cute; actually.

If anything, I felt like Heroman and ULTIMO were Stan Lee's views on anime and manga. It shows in the character designs a lot- particularly in ULTIMO, but that might just be Hiroyuki Takei's flair to it; because everyone in that series seemed generic in design and personality. Here, he seems to give a pro-American twist to it and actually based this one on American comics, but I see that he gives his own views of anime and manga in the designs of Psy and Joey. This series seems to be less than subtle about the fact it's in the US. We see Center City, West Coast USA show on the screen for a bit; and then the next second, we're seeing American flags draped everywhere. It shouts "...IN AMERICA!" every five seconds or so for a while, and once you think it stops, you ask it back, "Lemme guess, 'in America', right?" and then it responds: "I wasn't going to say that...", and then mutters an "...in America" back when Heroman pops up with this whole American flag design.

Angel Beats 1: Seems pretty good so far. A little more violent/bloody than expected, but that's not bad. Wondering how the plot's going to be, though- it seems like this might be slice-of-life, but I'm not sure.
