Anything that learns False Swipe, Taunt, and a sleep move?
Disable is the only method I can think of that "removes" Aqua Ring, if for just several turns. Also, what you just mentioned sounds golden.
Wait, IDEA. If you Encore Kyogre so he/she uses Aqua Ring repeatedly, it'll make Kyogre use up all 20 PP when he/she doesn't even need it. Encore + Sleep move + False Swipe sounds better.

But...Aqua Ring lasts until you switch out. If it uses it just once, I'll be forced to continually knock it back down to 1 HP until I can catch it.

Oh, I didn't know it's essentially a permanent Leftovers effect (assuming the pokemon stays alive/unswitched). I never used Aqua Ring before. Taunt it is then.

From how the formula works, trying to catch it at 50% HP has 2/3 the probability of 1 HP. Put it to sleep, get a Scyther/Scizor to false swipe it every now and then, and spam Pokeballs. :/
Taunt is your best bet if you NEED that extra 2% of a % rate in catching it.

Well, I'm trying to catch it in a Premier Ball, so yeah I probably need it.

You can't rematch Gym Leaders after fighting Red? That's weak. Sorta makes me not want to fight Red then. :<
Yes you can actually before and after

Classy. Lets see just how much that extra % is. xP
What level is he? 50? Serebii gives him a max HP of 207. 1/16 of that is 13. Every turn he heals 13 HP.
Excel Time. ;D
If I did this right, you just need to False every two or three turns to keep it at a 9% success rate.
On another note, just caught a Brave Nidoran(M). It has Rivalry. Does the game count Nidoran(M) as a male?

Gallade. It also can learn Mean Look for those pesky roamers.

Have 45 Pokemon in my dex, beat Whitney but haven't used the water on the tree yet. Spent 2 hours looking for a Yanma, where I'm told it is. No luck. FML.

It only appeared in swarms in G/S/C. Not sure about in this game.
Iinstead of Taunt, I'm just using a Smeargle with Spore and False Swipe. Gonna take a while to level it up to where it can outspeed Kyogre, though :/

Am I missing something?

1% chance at Route 35, except during swarms.

On average, it should take 100 battles to find. My estimates put me at going through 4 times that. ._.
Are swarms only post-national dex? Or some other event in game?

Mary and Oak's Pokemon Radio reminds you of what Swarms are active that day.

That's what Google told me, but I thought they said "Swarms are...", or something. I see stuff like "Seaking are found on route 40".

When a Swarm is happening you should see this.
Mary: "This is breaking news!"
"A bunch of (insert pokemon here) have decided to
make an appearance at
route (route number). If you're a trainer
who's really wanted to find (insert pokemon here)
head over to route (route number)!

Are Swarms only during certain times or something? I keep seeing the same messages over and over, just telling me what my Pokedex can about pokemon locations. Then it goes to an ad.
