MW to 9 first
#1
Well, I was just thinking, how useful is MW at level 9? I'll be training at Wyverns until about 130 or so, and with MW at level 9 at 123 I'll be 2 hitting about half of the time, but then I have to delay everything else.

So basically, should I get MW to 9 or just start getting ID?

I did mw9 first. It was like getting another medi so your damage increased by about 1k. Not worth it if you want to use some 4th job skills.

I did it to get extra int for more mp per level up; other than that, the damage boost is about the same as medi.

Would the exra INT even make a difference? Can't be much more than 3 MP per level. o_o

When do most archmages do mw9? Level 14x?

That's about 20 levels worth of 20-30int per level up. It's not much but every little bit helps when you're using ultimates to train. Makes mana bulls slightly cheaper too Tongue

I'm not telling everyone to do it. It's just that's what I did.

The magic damage formula works so that the more magic you have and the stronger spells you have, the more additional magic will affect your damage. Also, it only raises base stats, so take that into consideration if you're not lukless. Early MW would be most beneficial to luklesses with insane equipment. If you're low/normal luk and you don't have above average magic attack, then I'd suggest other skills before going for MW, since it won't really be as beneficial.

Just plug your magic attack and int with a certain spell into the formula, then plug in with your new magic attack and int after a theoretical level 9 MW (5%) and see the difference. The difference will be shown the most from blizzard.

[COLOR="DeepSkyBlue"]I put nine skill points into Maple Warrior once I got fourth job. I was in the late level 13x when fourth job came out.
I didn't really find Ice Demon useful though. I haven't used it much. I don't know about the others.

if you want to level up fast then increase your ultimate up first then MW...

I got mw 9 at 12x ... never regretted it. It does increase your damage noticably and in my opinion much more then a normal 20magic att pot.
5% of your INT extra is quite nice ... you also wont have to worry about overcasting mw9 later on when it is harder to level and you will be stuck with a lower level mw longer.. Bishops might get it to 9 sooner then Arch Mages though.

well, i think most mages train with ultimates yea? when i train with my friend who has i think like lv 15 mw it does make your dmg go up noticeably, but like, monsters you blizz usually have a loooot of hp and a few thousand dmg doesnt really do much 0.o dunno if this is only for me though

Spamming 1 button for the rest of your maple life=mad boring.
I think most mages would want 1 point in blizzard, and then start maxing Chain Lightning first? After all, that's why everyone started skipping thunder spear, right? And now, everyone wants to skip CL because people just want to Ultimate their way to 200 >_>?

I would do 1 blizz, max CL (or at LEAST get it to level 20 first), then 9 points in MW. Then worry about Ifrit and Blizzard. but I started 4th at 138; I guess if you're 12x and getting 60+%/hour spamming blizzard, it probably doesn't matter what order you do.

Well, right now I'm getting ifrit to 10 so it has a decent timer, and then i'm maxing CL. After, I'll max ifrit then get blizzard to a higher level and work on MW.
